I think North had a clear advantage in the ruck and left Miles in the backlines for too long. Also Johnston needed to start forward and kick goals. Campbell played well.

Johnston running around the back lines when they made a bit of a charge in the third quarter was an odd one. Even more puzzling was Stewart being out there all day....

Managed to leave a family lunch in time to watch the 2nd half at the ground. Great astmosphere, and a fitting farewell to FP. Shame that North didn't take their chances in the 3rd. 4th Quarter was ugly, with ball up after ball up after ball up.

Well done though to the Legs, best team all year. Remarkable that they go back-to-back with half their team different to last year's GF.

North certainly had their chances in that term.

I kind of think a reflection on North's belief that "this thing could be done" was in the opening term, northern end, when Shannon ran into goal at about 35 out and passed to two North players in the square and it was spoiled by McGuiness.
That was a moment to take the bull by the horns and some responsibility and kick a goal. He was in the clear.
For whatever reason he didn't and a chance to stamp some authority on the game went begging.
In a GF, you have to take your chances.

A very happy trip down to watch the premiership triumph.
Was a bit worried because of North's finals form and 2.5 in the opening term didn't ease my concerns much.
We've seen a number of 'superior' sides over the years squander flags with bad kicking on the big day.

Could have almost put North away in the second quarter, but for their late goals still giving them a sniff.
A sniff they indeed had with a strong third quarter effort everywhere but the scoreboard, while we were mostly pretty average.
Probably haven't been too many premiership sides without a goal in the 3rd qtr of the GF.

There would have been a fair number of nervous Norwood fans around the ground at three qtr time, including our group.
McGuiness fired up the team in the huddle though and after kicking the first couple it seemed we were pretty safe.

Overall, a solid win after a gallant challenge from North, they certainly made us earn it.
They applied plenty of pressure, caught us out when our movement was predictable and kept most of our forwards quiet.
Our delivery up forward though generally wasn't good at all and allowed North time to fill gaps and spoil.

Went back to Norwood Oval for the post match after party and player presentations.
Dean Terlich and Luke Jericho were back to help celebrate and I spotted Nick Duigan at the game and post match.

Frustrating. These are the clowns who only attend 1 game a year - the grand final.
