What was it? Crows supporters that are more worried about Port than their own team... says more about the supporter ;)

What?

I'm sure it was your post a couple Mondays ago when there was discussion about how Port had handled the departures compared to Adelaide and you didn't hold back talking about Port constantly being more worried about what the Crows are doing (or along those lines).

Yet you post in here ragging on Port more than most

Could have, could have.

Anyway, as I said, a draw and an after the siren goal after extra time, pretty sure it was about our conversion on the night not the selection.

Jeez Bedge, apologies for having an opinion on a footy forum. Would be boring if we all agreed wouldn't it.

Could've done more, and needed to limit McGovern, but I very much doubt Trengove would have been the difference.

Of those 10 disposals 3 were very clever and resulted in goals. He played his role structurally which enabled Dixon to run riot. If you want to measure Marshall, measure Dixon at the same time.

Plus, and perhaps most importantly in my books, a young tall forward got to experience a cut throat final.

You guys are getting mixed up with the Boak who played in 2013 and 2014 who had some leg speed(was never quick though) and used the ball well.

This Boak is too slow to play as an outside mid and his disposal is not what it use to be.
He might be playing off the bench for most of the year I’d say.

You don't have to be quick to float across the half back line and read the play.

Now, now...while I think Marshall has a bright future ahead of him I'm a little reluctant to throw him in the deep in for a full season of playing a key position in his current physical form. I'd have him in my plans for 2018, but I'd also have him playing 60 or 70% of the games. He's completely different to SPP, Wines and co. who can come in and play full seasons in their first year, we need to be mindful of managing him early.

I just wanna see Morell burn Kenny's house down... the on-field stuff isnt a concern for me

Booney wrote:Selection in that match can't be questioned. After the siren after extra time loss when we dominated play, execution can be questioned but not selection.

If we'd lost by 8 goals, question selection.

I find this a very interesting position.
If cricket Australia picks Watson, Marsh, Wade and Moises, but then just gets over the line against Ireland in a game where Steve Smith gets a duck.
Does that mean selection was correct because we won? And if we lose we blame Smith's execution not the fact the selectors picked 4 donkeys?

Just because Port's goal kicking against WCE was bad and we still got close, doesn't mean selection was right.

I'm not saying it's wrong, but looking at the result and something else that went wrong, doesn't give the green light to all other factors.

Agreed, however if you watched the match ( I assume you did ) then you can be pretty certain it wasn't the personnel on the night that was the issue, it was their execution that hurt us. Drawing a long bow you could argue different personnel would or could have resulted in better execution. We won't know that.
Where as say Adelaide picking Jenkins, Betts and Walker in the GF, that was personnel and not execution.

MELBOURNE’s Jack Watts has chosen Port Adelaide and is set to be traded to the Power.

It is expected that Watts will be traded for a second-round draft choice, with the Power holding Picks 31 and 34. Melbourne had demanded a pick in the 20s for Watts.

Geelong was the other club most interested in Watts but the Cats had been unwilling to give up a sufficiently early draft pick. The Cats hold Picks 19 and 22.

Port have offered Watts a three-year contract which would see him retaining the salary of his current two year deal over the first two years.

Watts also received interest from Sydney but the Swans have a tight salary cap and have said they will retain Kurt Tippett, who has three years to run on his contract.

In - Rockliff, Watts and Motlop, 3rd round pick in 2018 ( Ah Chee )

Out - Krakouer, Trengove, Impey, Ah Chee, Monfries, 4th round pick in 2018 ( Ah Chee )

31 will go to Melbourne so will have 34, 49 and 50.

Some late picks to come in for Young and Lobbe.

I hope they don't go. If they do then North might meet some of our recruiting team in the corridors.....
