thanks for caring though.. :)

sorry mate, being close to a laptop for 95% of your day allows me to be especially vigilant on the forum boards!

Anyone else weeing themselves a little bit in anticipation of the season starting in just over two weeks time? While im always cautious to look into any trial game results, I think this weekend you could get away with it. most sides will be playing very close to their round 1 lineups bar some availability issues. Very much looking forward to our trial against Mitcham on Saturday!

Wood sth v Luthies on the firday night shapes to be a big game. Will know much more about woody sth post Clifford etc. after the result. Would have to say luthies at this point i think.
Rosies v Greenies Two teams that i think will be pretty evenly matched during the year, Greenies have lost a couple but also gained some quality, rosies have a long list of ins and i'm leaning towards them for favoritism in this one.
Pultney V Elizabeth Will be the most one sided game of the round i think. Elizabth to open their 2015 account easily.
CLG V CBOC Will be very good to see where we are at against a team im picking to play finals this year. I rekon, at home with hopefully a big crowd behind us that we can get the win!
BOS v Para Hills Para Hills are a bit of an unknown for me, were poor away but fantastic at home last year and look to have added some talent in. BOS i think will be middle of the pack fighting for the last finals spot i think and so im going with Para hills to get the win here by a small margin.

Thoughts?

Rosewater v Greenacres will be a tough encounter round 1.
BOS come up against 2 clubs that we've not played before this year in Para Hills rd 1and CBCOC.
Looking forward to the season kicking off.

agree on the para hills comment though. We played against Buss in 2011 i think and he played half forward and through the middle and from memory ended up top 5 in the league goalkicking. Can play. With a few other players added into an already talented side I can see Para Hills pushing for a grand final spot if things go their way.

Lutheran seemed to have recruited a few.
Allison back from the SE is a good player. Bament was an a grader at Portland for years I reckon.

Another Riverland connection to Luthies. Ross will go ok, although getting on a bit.

if bament's body holds up he will be more than handy in div 5.
A smart footballer and has good skills. Handy thing is he can play either down back or forward.
get on board the thunder train!!!

see Elizabeth want dollars for one of their recruits who wants to go back to his club. and going by the clearance site, this players clearance to Elizabeth is still pending. Even if cleared they cant hold him, even a contract for 2015 cant hold him????????

If cleared, then contract is binding.

I was under impression that a player can only be held if he has played games for that club.

Quite simple, once cleared the contract then becomes binding.

Oh it happens.

At the end of year where I started playing casually in the C grade, only to be asked to move up to Reserves and then playing the last 2 A grade games for Gepps Cross, I was brought into a meeting with the new coach to explain where the club was heading, at the end they asked to sign a form of intent to play next year, which I did because as a new potential A grade player I was excited at the chance of playing Div 1/2 footy. There was no agreement for any type of payment or anything along those lines.

When it came to the next year and I had decided to go play with a couple of mates elsewhere, when I attempted to be cleared they denied it with the reason that I had signed a contract to play at the club the following year. What a joke. Needless to say I was quite annoyed, and they made me PAY FULL SUBS for the year to be cleared.

Pretty poor. Its not like I was a highly sought after player, or in their top 10 or anything, could have easily let me go without paying.

Mind you, the same club asked one of its junior cricketers to pay for cricket shoes that someone from the club had bought them 3 years prior as a gift when asked for a transfer, so not surprising I guess.
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

Did the said player play for Angle Vale or Elizabeth last season?
