I have no doubt there will be players, umpires or scorers who will be unavailable this week because they have tested positive or are a close contact. Whether the numbers are significant enough to cancel games is a good question. What happens if someone trains tonight and tests positive Thursday? Don't all the others that attended training become close contacts? I haven't seen any official statements from ATCA, but I think they should issue something.
i saw they have added to the bylaws about it, just make all games from here on one dayers, play the t20 finals on saturdays and finish early. at least that way you wont need to worry about covid ruining games half way through
That only covers replacement players in two day games. What if half your team is in isolation this week and you can't field a full strength team?
If you can't field a full strength team thats just bad luck. Same will apply to most clubs at some stage over the next three months. No different to having a wedding on, blokes getting called in for work or having to drop the misso's cousin at the airport.
Expectation will be that blokes are pulled up from the lower grades and you fill the strongest side you can.
I'd image the odd LO5 or 6 game will end up getting called off, but other than that most teams should play most weeks.

If a LO5 or 6 game got called off, I assume the points would be shared or would it be treated as a forfeit win

My own thoughts are it should be a forfeit, it's not that hard to find a couple of fill ins for a one dayer and clubs should be given the understanding that they are expected to find these fill ins.
However, I expect ATCA will take a softer approach and allow clubs to share the points. I would hope there would need to be clear evidence of a substantial number of positive cases within a club before the draw is permitted, and it doesn't become a free-for-all where clubs are agreeing to split points constantly.

So, you agree that ATCA should state their position on this?

Love this idea.
Agree with it as well. 2 day cricket will prove a nightmare for clubs.
Senor Moto Gadili wrote:So, you agree that ATCA should state their position on this?
They have stated their position, games will be rescheduled and where a reschedule can't be achieved, points will be shared.
what day do you reschedule a LO game to? do they play a game on Saturday then catch up game the next day?
I'm only guessing but I assume this relates more to the 2-day comp where games unable to get away week 1 would be 'rescheduled' as a one-day fixture week 2. I heard this happened with Port Districts in C1 before Christmas so some precedent. Doubt many, if any, LO games would be rescheduled, almost all of those to be called a draw I would think, although there could be the odd club that tries to get a catch up game in.

Yeah a lot of clubs unhappy that they can't put their best sides on the park at the moment. Those who can see the bigger picture understand its happening to almost every club and therefore just getting on with it. Yes, we are weaker than normal this round, but we are assuming our opponents will be too.
My club hasn't resumed training yet, but one of the lower grade captains just told me they have 13 players on the unavailable list as a result of either being positive, or a close contact. Even still, he said we'd have an oversupply this week and there will be players missing out on a game.

TOS get a much needed win Goodwood get another one after a slow start Erranga belted 90 off the last 5 overs to hit 144 not out. SPOC get a win they really needed.
6- 12 are all very tight and will be interesting come the end of the season
Port districts full of good blokes. Played half an A2 side against a c grade team full of kids. Bullying the lower grades to get paid players some better stat lines it seems

This doesn't sit well with me.... But if your from Ingle farm which I would presume, you blokes did the same last year when your A3 side had the bye due to Pembroke pulling out! Everything swings in round abouts.
And if your not from Ingle Farm, apologies but once again it all comes back one way or another.

Gaza played Port Districts in C1....which correct me if I'm wrong that is their 'A' grade!
But going through Districts line up their are a few names there playing well below their usual grade. Some might be even paid to play but hopefully they didn't take payment for this game

They also played Ingle Farm in B2 - where Groeke and a few others played - looks like they spread their A2 players throughout the grades
