Matt Hamp needed a full knee recon so the poor fella is just starting to do a bit of running now. Don't know when he will be able to play.

That was a shocker of an injury. By the looks of the brace on his leg that day, he'd had issues with it before?

That dude can kick a footy though. Even on the postage stamp, he was pumping it well over half way consistantly.

Heard a rumour on the weekend that a fairly prominent Kangarilla player was looking to play at Macclesfield this year.

Have been around long enough to know though that this one belongs in the "believe it when I see it" category

apprently TV have lost a few.. but chatting with their ruckman the other day they've also picked up a handful.
add that to the quality they already have, Carter would be a top 5 player in any club both divs, plus Hughes never ending cheque book...and they'll be around the mark. will certainly make top 3 of country div.

anyone know if cally are fielding a side? or gum?

Danielle is a genuine club slut, and clearly he doesnt play for the love of the jumper, so why bother picking him up, i would want a guy who sticks fat with the club threw thick and thin times rather then someone whose there for money.

Mick is actually trying to get a clearance to Angaston with old coach Simon Johnson. Kangarilla are fighting pretty hard to keep him as I've heard that both A & B grade players all signed a contract last year to stay on for 2007. I think Mick's clearance is going to the SANFL tribunal (or whoever does those hearings!!).

sorry gimp - thanks for bringing me up to speed. But whats his full name? Is he heading to birdwood, maccy or ??? sorry for my confusion.
reason I ask is the lad was a gun when I seen him play last year. I know a few teams thatd be after his services.

Michael Danielle. He played for Birdwood in 2005 (under Simon Johnson) and won the HFL Country Division Mail Medal (joint with Michael Carter from TV). He then got a clearance to Kangarilla in 2006 and won a premiership and I think he won the B&F (not 100% sure). He has now put a clearance in to go to Angaston to again play under Simon Johnson but Kangarilla are trying to stop it as he signed a contract with them at the end of 06 to play with them in 07.

How do you mean? I dont change teams every year, and certainly not for money, as i have never EVER been paid to play. The only time i have changed clubs is to better my skills at football at a higher level.

Hmmm - very good player. Angaston would be throwing in bucket loads, they were quiet on the money front so they'd be cashed up this year.
It is disappointing to loose quality but by the same account blokes have to live and Ive never seen footy loyalty put food on the table and pay the mortgage. Plus as Ron mentioned, he's clearly not going to the highest bidder instead going with an old coach which is loyalty in itself.

True, very true. But, you become mates when you share something like a premiership, thats how you make friends at football. You dont make them by changing every year looking for money, and also he has changed many times, so does that mean he has his best mates at 3 or 4 clubs??? There would be heaops of players who have other friends at other clubs but dont leave coz they love the jumper, soft on danielles behalf IMHO

Again I agree and disagree, Ive played a shit load of clubs and made a shitload of mates and contacts, Ive only ever moved on when things have gone sour between the club (off-field) and myself. There can be a lot of pressur on paid blokes and rightly so but as long as clubs keep painting them all with the same brush will be as long as they keep shopping around. If you are paying a bloke good coin, both the club and the player are prodcutive on and off field and everyone is treated equal then he will stay in the main part. Fine line I suppose.
