Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews
Went to the new Port Admiral Hotel for lunch yesterday. Party of eight (six adults + two kids) for Mother's Day, booked during the week and had a table outside.
Between us, I think there was 250g Rump (with choice of two sides) x2, Thai Chili Fried Chicken x2, an American Cheeseburger and a Coorong Mullet w/crinkle cut fries. I had the mullet and was extremely happy with the four pieces I got, as were my wife and MIL with the chicken (four pieces each that neither got anywhere near finishing). BIL and FIL seemed happy with their rumps and the way they were cooked too, choice of sides is a good idea (honey roasted carrots, fries, cheesy mash, coleslaw etc).
Bout $80 for the two of us with a couple of in-house lagers and 2x ciders. Portion sizes very generous, and a schnitzel I saw came out as we were leaving was huge too, will be back to try take it down.

Mings Court
Morphett Vale
Been around since Noah was a boy and interior decor hasn't changed at all since opening.
Last year we had a big table of 10 or so.
This year just 4 of us....taking the MIL out for dinner.
Got picked up and we arrived about 15mins before our booking time.
No problems there. Seated straight away. And after ordering a banquet for 4 our starter soup had arrived.
Staff were on top of everything. To the point where our entree of spring rolls/satay kebab came out straight after we finished the soup......we were like eating machines with all the food arriving....and that suits a fat bastard like me!!! Anyway the other 3 wanted a little break before mains. By this time the restaurant was full. Loads of tables that were seating 8+ people.
We then asked for our mains and 2 of the 4 arrived. I think that the kitchen only sent 2 out given we had requested that break. Anyway it took us a while to garner attention for the remainder of our mains to arrive. But the Mongolian Steak was well worth waiting.
We had been there 2 months back midweek and it food was ok. But when they are busy the food seems to be better!!!
I didnt pay.....but think it was around the $140 mark.
Banguet = $28pp
Beer, lemon lime bitters, 2 cokes.
8/10

They got scared as their head chef was off that day and didn't want a scathing report on here.

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews
Had dinner at the Little Hunter on Saturday night. Victoria Street, City for those old folk here.....to the young folk the back bar of the Woolshed!
3 people 2 beers each of super dry, Heineken and iron jack. No issues there.
2 steaks and a fish of the day (Atlantic Salmon). Steaks slightly under cooked but open to chef interpretation, as a more fussy one may have cooked for longer. No complaints with the fish.
Quick service and beat the rush of the footy crowd as they really started streaming in the door as we left. Fancy pub grub and would go again to see the cooking of the steaks interpretation.
