That is, at the end of the game a pre arranged panel, usually consisting of at least two coaching staff and one or two others, will meet to award votes. They can award from zero to a maximum of 18 votes for the game but a player can only achieve a maximum score of 3 votes. As an example in a 40 goal flogging there maybe no votes awarded at all. In a good win any combination totalling 18 votes could apply. You get my drift. What do other clubs do?

It's kept very simple. 3,2,1 awarded for each game. Chosen by the coach in consultation with assistant/s.

At Brighton the coach and two others give 6-5-4-3-2-1 to their best 6 so a standout BOG can get 18 votes. Same across all grades. A bit old school but it is a system that has stood up and rarely has the top 5 final votegetters in any grade caused raised eyebrows. One year the A grade tried a different system under Tony Francis which awarded a maximum of 6 votes for each grouping of forwards-midfield-defence. It tended to tighten the overall voting but probably disadvantaged midfielders more than what the other system tends to slightly disadvantage permanent forwards and defenders.

Couple of interesting ins and outs on clearance page for Morphettville Park

In - Panozzo (huge pick-up)

out - white, chalmers, greatrex (under 16 player but Roos would be seething to lose this lad to Brighton, can play)

Heard Cove and Morphett Vale have had to combine Under 18 teams as neither club had enough to fill one on their own.

Worrying signs if these two are struggling to fill a side. Close to the end of the road for the Under 18's age bracket?

Cove played in grand final in 2013 and Morphett Vale in preliminary final last year....how many teams will fill this age group?

I'd suggest following clubs will struggle/wont fill an under 18's :-

Hackham
marion
lonsdale
cove/morphett vale?
aldinga/noarlunga?
edwardstown?
port noarlunga?
Morphettville park?

Fairly constructive comment sweendog. I see you are a Christies man and it appears your boys are requiring a merger with Hackham to come come up with an U18 team.

That's good LGIL, I was just going on what Dutchy posted on the Junior page. Still a ridiculous comment from Sweendog.

Im hearing on the grapevine that Christies 16s and Porties 16s might join forces for the season, playing as Christies, then releasing all the Porties players back at the end of the season

I can guarantee there will be a standalone Christies Beach team in the U/16 comp

Yeah, but will half of them be transfered in from Porties, then transfered out after the season?

If you look back over theaters you will its this particular year of birth thatost clubs are struggling with and have done so since minis. Nothing any
Club has done wrong just the the era of game consoles. Great to see that the 2 clubs can work together to keep the boys playing footy and not losing them to either other clubs or football altogether

Each year is different. each club will have the odd bad year. Yet you see a lot of posts to say clubs should be kicked out if they don't have a full quote. These posts only seem to apply to some clubs.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Watched a bit of Encounter Bay and Christies in their trial today at the Bay. Really impressed with the Saints, a bit off the Bay's as in the top couple but they look to be a very good team.
