All out for 206, and I think we've got them 3 for about 70. That's the last I heard. The Bedge wrote:How did your A grade go yesterday son?Failed Creation wrote:Keep plugging away, amigo.
I could be well off the mark.

Good luck with the cricket out there, Leanne tries to keep it alive but there’s not a great deal of support.
When they do take it serious they end up being a pretty strong team.

Said the same thing to Leanne yesterday. Between Eden and Liberty the population growth here should support a strong cricket club in the next 3 to 5 years.

Re: PDCA 2016 - 2017
Eastern parks team on the weekend was one of the worst teams I’ve seen
4 kids that have next to no senior experience, woody hurt his knee taking a catch early on so was bowling off 4 steps but that didn’t last long, Ian Williamson and Mcmullen had to leave at 4.30 for football presentation that was held in modbury, and with footy trip plus a wedding this weekend the only A grader playing the second week will be nugget!
Happens every year the first couple of games, but will be a very quick turn around over the next game or 2 when the full team is back

Re: PDCA 2016 - 2017
Well Westies hit the ground running in Grade 1 with 253 thanks to Travvy Mc smashing 65 not out after Justin Davies made a steady 49 opening the innings, you'd think that would be enough to take the points from here.
Virginia who were 8/123 at one stage managed to reach 244 with Nathan Warren scoring 41 and Craig Figallo 54, Alex Leo scored 41 earlier to hold Virginia together, Eastern Park sitting on 6/37 at stumps with Nathan Warren picking up 5/11 including a hat trick.
My kiss of death predictions for NEK were way off the mark, they did manage a respectable 206 with Lee Mills and Prettejohn scoring 70 and 68 respectively for a 135 run partnership, Gardens were 4/103 in reply, I'm not sure who's out or who's even playing for the Gardens and probably wont know until Friday week if they lose.
As the bleeder said, we shouldn't look too deep into the results, usually Virginia are the slow starters but looking at their line up there isn't many footballers left.

Riverside in a world of hurt, only 8 batsmen late on day 1 chasing 296, all out for 32 and 2/1 in the 2nd dig, ouch!

Respect for Riverside though fielding a Grade 2 side this year given their situation, when they could've opted for the easy option to go lower or even to LO's.Lightning McQueen wrote:Riverside in a world of hurt, only 8 batsmen late on day 1 chasing 296, all out for 32 and 2/1 in the 2nd dig, ouch!
Hopefully they get some positive results this year.
I think this sesaon will be a very lobsided in G2 - OTH, North Pines and ATCO will be streets ahead, whilst Enfield, Royals, Riverside will battled out bottom half. Dublin and Craigmore may be the sides they push for 4th spot.

Craigmore are poop mate, Aaron Sebastyan is the only player from last years semi that played on the weekend, there's no depth to cover either, they have bottomed out and will need to start a complete rebuild or hope the McIver's don't like it out at Willaston. The Bedge wrote: Respect for Riverside though fielding a Grade 2 side this year given their situation, when they could've opted for the easy option to go lower or even to LO's.

A team can't lose 2 McIver's, Trent Payne, Dylan Wilson, Luke Dunn, Mark Gebauer and I assume that Tyson Richard sustained a footy injury.
I'd like to know why they all left in one hit, especially with Dyl being a Craigmore product.
As for Riverside, I really hope they can survive the season, they should've gone the easy option to keep alive IMO.

Re: PDCA 2016 - 2017
Sorry mate cricket was the last thing on my mind, I still got 5 weeks before I even think about it haha
But yeah there were 6 blokes missing from our semi final team last year including Tuckers, diedrichsen and Mciver who are all very handy!
Out of the other 5 that did play Saturday, 4 of them are going away this weekend so we will be 2 short on top of that lol

Re: PDCA 2016 - 2017
I caught an hour of the Craigmore/Atco game and lets just say the bowling was extremly pedestrian. Amazing how far away the standard of the comp has fallen in the last ten years. Ten years ago this was div 5 stuff 15/20 years ago div 7 stuff.Lightning McQueen wrote:Craigmore are poop mate, Aaron Sebastyan is the only player from last years semi that played on the weekend, there's no depth to cover either, they have bottomed out and will need to start a complete rebuild or hope the McIver's don't like it out at Willaston. The Bedge wrote: Respect for Riverside though fielding a Grade 2 side this year given their situation, when they could've opted for the easy option to go lower or even to LO's.

Really hope Riverton can stick the year out, like i've mentioned before i have a lot of respect for this club and would hate to see them fold. If any club had to drop grades etc i reckon Riverton is as genuine case as you could have.
