Now back to the Wrestling....
I missed Smackethdown on friday and only caught it today whilst waiting for the cricket. Im still yet to form an official opinion on Alberto Del Rio as some of the ideals of his character are entertaining and very much a direct lineage of the great Scott Hall when he arrived the WWE as a latin sensation named RAZOR RAMON. When Scott made his PPV debut as Ric Flairs tag partner against OHHHHHH YEAH "The Macho Man" Randy Savage and the partner of Machos choice, the then heel Curt "Mr Perfect" Hennig. Scotts efforts that night at Survivor Series were nervous, sloppy and simply below main event standards yet he would go onto become a major player in Wrestling.
Until friday Del Rio had done very little for me but on the latest Tv show he did 3 things that made perhaps look at him a little differently.
1. Introducing REY REY and bringing out a chihuahua in a mask was put simply piss funny. Even Rey fans had to laugh
2. Took all of Reys moves and made him look strong. Often people dont seem to sell for Rey the way im sure he would like
3. Did the job and came out looking good.
In a time when i find it hard to talk up performances i thought Del Rio and Rey did a great job and put on a great match
. I still reserve my judgement on ADR becoming one of my faves until he wrestles guys his own size and bigger but stage one of being a star is to entertain and he did that for me on this given Sunday and Marcus North made a ton so anything can happen
