I love a bet but am hopeless at backing winners* so I decided to lay my selections and have managed to have money in my account after 5 weeks where normally I wouldn't.

I've had a few setbacks. That being that the minimum 'lay' on betfair is 30 bucks. But I'm hanging in there. Summary below;

Summary
Start 200, end 158.48
Start 158.48, end 178.89
Start 178.89, end 207.18
Start 207.18, end 128.89
Start 128.89, end 153.44 (was down to 78.89)

Anyone who's used Betfair before would know that if you lay horses, it's not a quick win, it's more of a slow burn.

*I find that I back more winners now when I lay them, than I do if I pick them outright.

Yep Paid $24

Invested $256
Return $116.16
Have actually had a good day outside that

Same, got Standoff at 27 early. Always good when your punting with their money for the day.

I snagged that one but only with a small saver bet and at usual BetEasy crappier odds. Still in front from the UK/France/South Efrican races overnight thankfully

I like Swan Hill Race 5 Punk Princess, a BB. Currently $41 but I got $101 on Friday. Will be in this from gate 3 for a long way. Really good win two starts back, last start was 4-5 wide the whole way and wasn’t beaten far

3 BBs running in the Swan Hill Cup, not expecting anything from them so maybe box a quinella.

Inn Keeper $5.50
Anjana $16
Reward With Return $18

And a small multi play:

Ipswich 6-4
Swan Hill 7-8 (pl)
Hawkesbury 8-16 (pl)

Fixed at $77 this morning, but reckon could get closer to $100 on Tote or with a boost

What do you mean by minimum lay of $30? as in liability?

Very pleased with my efforts over the last two weekends. I'd had three shocking weekends in a row, couldn't back a winner, was getting 3 of 4 quaddie legs, nothing was working so I took a step back, still been watching them but have hardly had a punt on anything for nearly 3 weeks. Just a few little plays here and there.

Started watching it thinking it was down a straight.

I assume the tactic is to mess with how far ahead they judge he is or to simply not worry about him?
