Today my buddy and I went for a drive We got out at Wistow General store The store was full of crows posters, crow dolls, racing pictures and a photo of Russell Ebert I asked the mature aged shopkeepers about the earthquake One thing mentioned was that some people had thought it was the trucks going past on Wellington Road
We asked where the exactish epicentre was We were directed to the Mt Barker strawberry farm about 2kms away We went to the farm on Fiddlers lane and bought some earthqqqqqqquake strawberrys Punnets were $2-50 , fresh and delightful tasting """Strawberry fields forever.""
Spoke to some workers at the farm who described the quake A greek fellow knew it was an earthquake as soon as he heard the rumble being from Northern Greece he would know that We bought some strawberry jam from there as well dunno if I will ever open the jar though
We also stopped on the corner of Wellington Road and Fiddlers lane to the Rosary Garden thrift shop come library The proprietors told me at the back is where the Barkers first lived What a delightful premise They aslo described the qqqquake, the fourth in the area in the last 3 weeks
7/7/1883 was the first main earthquake in Australia It registered 4.7 And it was at Mt Barker
Cost us $50 for lunch and petrol , but it feels like Ive spent nothing today And tonight Im giving out the earthqqqqquake strawberrys to my friends and family
Bizarre. I typically get all the warnings and alerts for all-hazards and off all people, I haven't seen this myself! Will be following this one up tomorrow, for sure.
LMAO that the article says the last such warning was after Christchurch and issued by the Premier - he was in India at the time!

Following that quake, Australian Seismological Centre director Kevin McCue said it was only "a matter of time" before SA experienced a repeat of the 5.5 magnitude quake of 1954 that caused $70 million damage across Adelaide.
That one wasn't a big deal - as a kid I slept through it and was unhappy I'd mssed it. I told my mother she should have woken me so I could experience it - she'd had the silly fear I'd have been frightened had a I woken. When I lived in the Dandenong Ranges near Olinda and Mt Dandenong, from 2000 to 2008, small tremors were fairly common, and never made the news.
Was there a tremor last night by any chance? I heard this strange loud shaking noise last night, but I was very tired and it may have been the neighbour's cat landing on our gutter (he is rather large).
Hey Goose, ya big stud! Take me to bed or lose me for ever.
AN earthquake has shaken state's Mid-North, rattling houses in Jamestown. A Geoscience Australia spokesman said the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.0 and its epicentre was 20km north of Peterborough, 20km east of Orrororoo and 87 km northeast of Port Pirie.
It had struck about 8.45pm.
"There's been no reports of damage, but we've had reports in all those areas and also in Jamestown," the spokesman said.
He said there would be aftershocks, but could not say how severe they would be or how long they would last.
"For a magnitude of four, we're going to expect some small aftershocks but we would expect them to be reducing in size," he said.
I don't think it was as big as the last one though I remember being in my bedroom and it felt like it was going to collapse sounded like a 100 semi-trailers coming down the road.
Putting my scientific cap on I'd put this one in the 50-60 semi-trailers category.
