The biggest issue in my opinion for North is that they had ten players missing injured against Centrals in the final trial game. Having so many injuries heading into the season isn't ideal in my opinion especially considering some players such as Wintle and Brett White are coming off long term injuries in 2007.
Is it just me or have North seemed to have alot more injuries than all the other clubs over the last 3-4 years?
Is this co-incidence or bad training techniques and player management.

I wouldn't call all those who missed the last trial as injured. Only Clarke and Ward are not up for selection this week - the rest should play although O'Hara and Motlop will have to pass fitness tests.

Interesting having players rest the last trial before the season. I would have thought the 40+ degree trials would have been a good time to rest these players not the week before the season opener. Why would these players need a REST wwouldn't they be looking for match fitness if they need a rest after two trial games how they gonna be after 5 league games on the trot.
More to these players resting than meets the eye.

If your correct whufc then eagles may start to shorten in the odds(bayman you reading this).Even with Cica,Symonds,Colevile as outs for the eagles .
One just never knows with footy clubs

There's no doubt a couple have sore spots (McIntyre for example, O'Hara coming off knee surgery) so why risk them in a trial?

For your info North haven't played a trial in extreme heat - 1 game in Canberra (21 degrees) and 1 trial at night when it was about 30 degrees at 8.00 p.m. then the Centrals trial which was a cold and windy night in comparison to recent weeks.

On Phil's behalf, my reconciliation shows 10 home ground matches at woodville & thebby are included.
Does not include our only minor round match at adelaide oval last year v sturt when 3350 attended.

Does include the three home games at thebby. The anzac day game, given we had just won the premiership, and is our shared home ground is more than fair to count, regardless of whether adelaide oval was available, or the SANFL called it a neutral game :)

The average is 2472.5, rounded up to 2473. I knew there was at least one half a brained opposition supporter at each of our home games

eddie nice to see you posting
Will you be at prospect this week ?

Some interesting selections there. Good luck to the new players. It looks to be a fairly mobile forward line and very strong centre/half back line. Going to have to be right on top of our game to get close to North at Prospect.

Looking at those squads the following are missing: Cicolella, Colville, R Fiacchi, Klun, Passador, Pedler (retired?), Petrenko, Symmons, Twomey, Wright. That's a fair injury list to start the season...

Aerie the forward line is still very tall with Staples ,Salter, and Schwarze.Hopefully Fitzgerald and Jacky can rove to the taller forwards helped with the likes of Mackie,Biagi,Fairclough who must be changing on the ball.

Can I get some feedback from any Eagles supporters on here as to opinions on Jonathan Lee??
I see he is in the ressies again even with the retirement of Lindsay. I know the coaching staff at the eagles like to use their ruckman off the bench rather than up forward. Does this cause problems with young ruckman's development? As in not resting up forward.

He doesn't look like he has Aerie but he certainly can leap and kick long goals .He handled himself very well against the dogs back line in the last trial. And he will not attract the number 1 defender .
This side while not the greatest Eagles team does appear have a bit more pace over the ground a mix of talls and smalls up forward .
One more thing determination a lot of the guys included in this side have shown me this in the TRIALS .YES I know they are only TRIALS but I am not talking about the older guys(the big known names) the younger and the recruits as well have shown some real GRIT.Real in and under go get the ball and run .
cheers
Can you tell I'm getting pumped for the footy .

Well Southwark
D Roberts left the club but has returned and looked like he has toughened up some .
I like young Lee his kicking was his downfall last year along with illness .I am pretty sure he will play some games as the year goes on .
How about young bock 200 and something cms tall he may well develop into something as well .
And in the first two trials young Redden was playing fullforward and he was not a short man either .
Suddenly the EAGLES have young Talls and I think Hill is a tall as well .

I realise you're not interested in Port's AFL side Wedgie ;) but do you know if Marlon Motlop is playing Reserves or out injured?

Im very interested in the Power mate, I love watching them get flogged by the Cats.
Marlon's playing ressies, must have been very close to a league berth.

Yep, O'Hara is still injured, quite a few have small injuries and as we have the bye in Rnd 2 should get a heap back in Rnd 3.
Down's the only shoe in to stay on the bench as he's the 2nd ruckman, word has it that Ladhams may have twisted his ankle at training so that may be one less to get kicked off the bench to the ressies, he did similar in the finals and played with it but as its Rnd 1 I think we may be cautious as we are with a lot of other players.
