Not really but hard to compare as they haven't been training long, the Swans players that played them looked like their standouts plus maybe 1 or 2 others.
Having said that I found out what sort of money 4 of the clubs in the ACT have and I was astounded to say the least.
Ainslie makes Central and North look like Division 6 Amateurs!

Ah yes but that money gets split amongst all the clubs associated with that sporting club, League, Union Footy, Soccer, Netball, basketball, cricket etc.

Clubs like Tonggerong, Eastlake, Soutport (QLD) etc are loaded.

$5 memberships to join the club and then nominate which sport your associated with.

Like comparing apples with oranges when you compare their sporting clubs with how we have ours set up.

But you're right Wedgie, big coin!!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Where does this team rate as in position in their League, please? If North has improved since 2007 then we're in for a Classic game at Prospect on Saturday April 12th.

the north v queanbeyan game did wonders for the queanbeyan tigerrs.

opening round of the AFLCANBERRA (yes i know but that's what they named it here)
saw the tigers defeat the sydney swans reserve side QUEANBEYAN 17.10-112 def. SYDNEY SWANS 14.10-94

i think this is the swans reserves side 1st loss in about 2-3 years

Dunno where you get your ideas from but Tuggers are one of the poorest clubs going around. Ainslie are the big spenders over there!

I played for Hectorville in Ammos here, and went to Tuggies who had to split our games between two grounds, didn't have a clubroom, had a training ground known as "the rock" which was about 20km away from Tuggeranong and change facilities that I would complain about if I was playing Div 5 Ammos.

When I played there, I paid more in subs than I did here.

Tuggeranong were sponsored by the Southern Cross Group of clubs, which entitled us to have our presentation there on a Sat night or Sunday arvo. As far as how much they actually sponsored us $ wise, I have no idea. All I know is that Ainslie (at the time) were flying players in for games, and Brent Heaver was alledgedly on about $2k a game (as were others) - ALLEDGEDLY. There is no salary cap I'm aware of over there.

The difference between Tuggeranong and Ainslie was that Ainslie had their own "club". Which has pokies. Much like the NRL clubs in NSW.

Tuggies have recently lost their better players to other ACTAFL clubs because of flag prospects (and no doubt a few $$ incentives as well).

correct tuggeranong are one of the poorer clubs in the league.
do not have clubrooms the likes of ainslie, queanbeyan, belconnon and eastlake.
have changed their identity twice in 5 years from the bulldogs to now the hawks
and were on the cusp of distinction last year.

this year AFLCANBERRA has changed the rules on the sydney swans reserve team.
to even the competition up which now only has 6 league sides the following rules apply

a maximum of 13 listed players on the field at one time.
a playing squad of only 24 with only 18 listed players.
top up players to be drawn from canberra clubs when playing in canberra
and from sydney competitions when playing in sydney e.g reserve and under 18's
a maximum of 12 listed players on the team sheet for the final series.

all remaining swans reserve listed players are now directed to play for tuggeranong through out the season

until the last 2 weeks where queanbeyan defeated swans reserves side (round 1) and belconnon (trial match) the swans reserve side (with all listed players available to play in the swans league side) had gone undefeated the last 3 years in this competition.

MIT80's, make that thrice in 10-15 years. I played for the Cowboys (Crows guernseys) in 99/2000, they were previously the bulldogs (Footscray guernseys) and now are the Hawks after Hawthorn affiliated themselves with the club.
