Look, I think he would, as a small defender. He's not a midfielder and his disposal & decision making are a bit questionable at times, but he always gives effort.

Just think we had a great opportunity to be brave with the decision and appoint someone like Durham or Caldwell. I personally would have loved to have seen Durham get the gig.

I'm more worried about Craig Vozzo stepping down.

Has it got anything to do with Welsh over ruling the football department on the Merret trade? I cant imagine that would of been a popular decision with such an experienced operator.

I don’t think so. He has been stepping back gradually and the club knew it was coming and it was a very amicable parting.
Seems he genuinely wants/needs to get back to Adelaide for family reasons

Don't get me wrong, not a great selection but, seriously what were the alternatives?

Also, were very quick to judge from the outside maybe he is a great communicator and leader inside the 4 walls? Do we really know?

Yeah, from everything you hear of the younger players Andy is very good with them and spends a lot of time mentoring them and they do seem to listen to him. I think player wise he is pretty vanilla but the club has to realise he isn’t a mid and that his best roles have always been as a lockdown defender on a small to medium forward. And please don’t let him kick it :)

Vanilla
Can’t play as a mid
Can’t kick

Interesting choice!

Who is your best player outside of Merret?

Durham, for mine.
Caldwell is very good but a little injury prone, but both have the ability to be top notch midfielders

Martin is probably our second best but out for season with ACL so probably Durham.
I think guys like Roberts and Clarke will be up there by seasons end
