Footy,
love going to watch my club play after five years of not being able to do it regularly.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Grand Final next week.
Last night we knocked out the top side, they'd lost 3 games in the 18 game season.
We got rolled in last years GF, time to make amends.
In a ripping affair we've taken out the Div 2 Premiership
Leading 4-2 after the singles we need to win just 1 doubles game.
In the first two doubles games we've stumbled and lost.
In the last, we're behind all game. With them having two left they pot but go in off. We've 3 and the black to finish. We finish. 5-4. Beauty!!
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
If you want to go far, go together.

Good luck on the tat. I hope its not on your back, and you are flying home shortly there after. Could be a bit uncomfortable on the plane.
Getting a scorpion down my side, better to do it close to leaving opposed to showering in Bali water.
I’ve learnt a fair bit from this journey, we’re coming back next year with about a dozen more
Tat is done, it hurt a bit.
Went quad biking, that was the highlight of the trip.
I'm done, had a ball but I'm looking forward to going home now.

Looks like Seminyak for us. So long as there a bars and restaurants within an easy strolling distance…. I’m good.

The quad biking is a must, so much fun, if I could post pics I would.
Sanur is a bit quieter but Seminyak is probably the next rung up opposed to Legian & Kuta.
We stayed at Sanyang Sanur, great eateries and pubs within 5 minutes walking distance, we have a great driver that knows all the good places to go to that are at a distance, he charges $60 per day but we give him at least $160 every day that we use him, $20 each which is insane when you compare it to Ubers etc.

There's a 711, a restaurant and a shop to buy slides, handbags and t-shirts a 5 minute walk from everywhere.

We went in April 2023, and must admit the best time we had was on Nusa Ceningan. None of that around (was some restaurants of course) but no tourist shops, 711's cars not allowed etc.
The owner of the "hotel" we stayed at was getting married, and they had a traditional ceremony where they sacrificed two pigs for the whole island, and he invited me to attend. Was amazing, and good to see real Bali.

Hardly. Not like the 10,000 drivers are all going to get together and go "hey I got $160 a day, lets all start charging that from now on".
Our guy we used charged AUD$50 a day, and we kept it at that unless he did multple "to and from" trips in the day, then we doubled it.

This bloke lost his wife 3 months ago to a house fire where a gas pipe exploded when his wife went to light the stove, he had to move to a village so he can get support for his son while he works.
He goes and fills his esky up for our trips back to the villa after our days out and we get heaps of perks from the places he takes us because of him.
He goes above and beyond his duties, we’re sponsoring him to come to Adelaide after our next trip, he still requires more surgery from the burns he suffered from the explosion.
Spending time here throws life into perspective, I gave a kid $10 who was trying to sell me some bracelets, I didn’t want any but emptied out what small notes I had, he wiped his eyes and gave me a huge smile, everyone is so appreciative, cheerful and grateful here, we really have no idea how lucky we are.

Our group used the same dude last time, they don’t use surnames here but he’s adopted my brother in laws surname for his Facebook account, he hangs back and has a Bintang with us after a day out and reluctantly stays for a feed.

Kind of why you are arguably the best bloke on here LM
We forget how lucky we are here in Aus. Our our shitty days are better than most people in the world's good days.
To totally F*** up this threads intent, I read overnight there are 22 000 kids missing in Gaza, that's basically the entire population of Whyalla

Thanks for the kind words mate, I’m just a bloke that works on my flaws, learns from my mistakes and continually tries to be a better person, I’m grateful that I’ve been able to take this trip and learn from the experience.
You sum it up well, we whinge about petrol prices, roadworks, cost of living but we still go home to our nice dinners, watch a bit of tv and sleep in our warm beds, some have never had any of them luxuries ever and then there’s the ones praying each day that their child is alive somewhere.
