Will the stadium get built amongst the political environment?

The stadium is no certainty and no stadium no team.

If the AFL stand by that then there's a good chance there is no team. The Tassie state election was catastrophic for the major parties, and with all the deals needed to be done, the stadium won't be one of them.DOC wrote:I can’t see it making any difference.

14 Libs, 10 ALP, 5 Greens, 3 JLN & 3 independents. So the Libs need 4/6 of the cross bench to get legislation through.
I reckon the best chance of the stadium legislation getting through is a deal between Libs and Labs.
There’s a real diversity in the background of JLN and Ind. they’ll be wanting AFL $$$ for the stadium if they were to vote for it.
Grab the popcorn.
Less than 50% of the Tassie population took up the membership option.

Agree with what you are saying here and I think I mentioned it earlier about the JLN and getting the stadium as that simply won't happen.am Bays wrote:Good point
What I was trying to say, not very well, is that opponents of the stadium can say that when given an opportunity to join up and back in Devil specifically (two weeks out from election) half the state didn’t back it directly.
It’s going to be an interesting 6-12 months in Tassie footy
