Fact is Head is our least productive bat over the summer.
In the past 16 innings, he has passed 50 once. Smith and Labuschagne have passed fifty 4 times in the same time. ATTACKING attitude isn't a excuse for lack of output. That's sounding like a Bazzball moral victory statement.

What is the game situation we are making that decision on?

The best batters throughout history have always been able to bat at different paces. Even Warner and Gilchrist knew how to bat situations despite the fact they always looked to play on the positive side.

Head has more opposition attention on him then ever before. The fact he is going hard every single time regardless of situation the bowlers aren’t having to ball to him anymore, captains can set pre planned fields from ball one and stick

I dont think Trav should be dropped but I’m not sure having one plan only is the best option long term either. Just like Bazball it can be real successful for periods but without a plan b it looks unsustainable long term.

I guess to answer you question….Head caught teams off guard with his ball one attack so when he comes out to bat next he is going to have the advantage of NZ setting defensive fields with blokes spread on the boundary. Now that he is out of form I would like to see him use that to his advantage and work into the innings by manipulating the spread field. Give the NZ captain a different look to think about. Maybe try and force him to bring some fielder closers to bat. Maybe make the bowlers find a straighter line to him.

Just like he had nothing to lose with his brazen attack, he has nothing to lose for an innings or two reigning it in a tad whilst still being positive

Both were awful shots. Both are guys out of form.
One has a Primary role of keeping wickets, which he is doing well.
Heads Primary role is to bat, and atm he is the worst performing batsman in the top six.

As much as it hurts to praise Warner haha I think he is the greatest example of a real attacking batsmen being able to bat at speeds pending form etc

At times when he was out of form he would hit his way out of a slump, at other times he could real gritty and wear bowlers down whilst always still looking to score runs

It was what made him the champion batter he was, he had plans A, B, C

You knew Warner in a form slump was going to come out and run real hard between wickets, put pressure on the fielders etc

An hour into day 2, set your self up play your self in. The way NZ played that session shows how good the pitch is for batting.
