Overnight ‘high’ 34.7 at 5am.

How dafaq does it heat up at night, by 7 deg, and be the highest temp at around 5am when it usually is the lowest?

:-??

Is there a meteorologist in the house?

The winds were from the North East last night, meaning the air coming into Adelaide is coming over warm land, rather than cool oceans.
And yes, there were general northerly's most of the day and early evening last night, however around 1am they picked up, from gentle 5-9km/hr to high teens from 1am to 5am.

Around 5:30am the winds shifted and came from the west, seeing a rapid drop in temp from 34 to 26 within an hour.

It's still 33 degrees out at 6.44 pm.

And the heavens just opened.

In fairness to the bom they did say there was a chance of late showers. Today was the traditional Adelaide stinker - Hot as ****! I’ve lived in Perth, at least 40 there gives you the Fremantle Doctor, Adelaide gives you a hot as hell Northerly….

Wearing shorts but have a wind jacket on. Was quite pleasant on the walk as the sun was out and no wind or rain today. Last night when we landed it was blowing a Gale and felt like ice

We had an XE Falcon with no air con, I was going from Royal Park to Elizabeth every day.

We had one in wall air con and the 4 of us slept in the lounge room every night.

Memories.

-6 today but with the wind roaring in off the Arctic it apparently “feels like” -17.
Unfortunately our tour to the North Cape canned as they had a blizzard go through that dumped 6m of snow in about 2hrs and caused a few avalanches which blocked the road.
Still got shorts on most of the time but donned pants for our walk this arvo
