Grade Cricket

Local cricket is the go here. Any talk about local comps, grade cricket, etc.

What a precious decision by whoever made it. Pitch was another road as it always is. They play double header T20's all over the world. Many would've organised to give up work etc., not to mention pay the BBL ticket price ($2 goes to the club if you put in a code in ticketek). Plus the game was scheduled at 1:15pm so by my reckoning, there would've been about a 2.5 hour gap between games.

Anyway, at least it is still being played at Adelaide Oval and the 28th of Jan looks free of any BBL/Sheffield Shield/Marsh Cup, so besides Carey who will be playing the Test match, all players should be available? Perhaps should've scheduled on that date in the first place?

That article was written in 2016.

Maybe SACA copied the idea

Heard rumour there may have been stuff up by scorers (god knows how) and he is only on 199. Celebrated the double century as was told what was needed off last over. Going to have to waste three overs next week as can’t leave him stranded now surely.

Campbell Thompson not bowling big loss (played vs WI), Luke Robins was going to retire last year as has young child now, Cormack really does not spin the ball much, so not surprising they struggle to take wickets at the moment.

Scoring mistakes happen, these people do this thankless task every week and do a remarkable job. People get sick, they may have to go and do another job as well. On this occasion it had an unfortunate impact, which those scorers would be very uncomfortable about. Given the difficulty all clubs face in getting volunteers who do so much work for nothing we need to be very grateful. Many of them do not take the fees provided by SACA but donate it, into the club's coffers.

Good pick up, there was an article in the SMH yesterday and was looking for one that wasn't paywalled, obviously not a new idea.

24 hours is long time in cricket

Kelvin Smith 199* one day, second ball duck charging pace bowler the next

Think all century makers on Saturday failed today, except for Gatting.

Hopefully it is just alleged and didn't occur.

With previous incidents hopefully it doesn't impact negatively on WT overall brand.

Predicted that would happen, no guarantee would have got that final wicket but still may rue it in the end, so tight from 3rd to 8th now

It will be hilarious if the ladder doesnt change and Kensington get relegated. However they do play the 3 teams that are just above them on the ladder so their destiny is very much in their own hands

Looks like there's three divisions. Glenelg in a division of their own at the top.

The idea of this concept, being more competitive games and more to play for, looks like it is working. Teams 2-8 all still a realistic chance of making finals as well as getting relegated.

It would be interesting to see how the players assess at the end of the season how the concept is working, or not working.

Agree, no easy games in Div 1, everyone can beat each other, and all games thru to the finals will have an impact on who plays finals and who gets relegated. Can’t ask for more than that.

Heard Pudney from the Seahorses had decided he needs a break, not enjoying it this season, so has decided to not play

Glenelg are very strong in the fast bowling area, he did not fancy playing 2nd Grade so said he was going to play golf on Saturdays! May be passing up that elusive flag this group has been so close to and has to happen in one of three comps this season, surely.
