I know one bloke come in asking for $500 and left disappointed

Just signed a 17 year old kid for $250 a game, and a B grader for $200 a game.

Reckon his dad is a pretty good source, he’s dirty about the his son signing but said it’s his decision.

Imagine busting the bank on kids and other teams rejects all in the hopes of chasing a 3rd D7 flag in 5 years. What a club.

If its coming from a dad big noting his son you can be guaranteed they are getting a packet of salt & vinegar chips and a coke zero. ;)

Never said the dad was big noting his son.. I asked his dad, he informed me. Given the family has been involved in the club for a long time, his daughter still plays and he was eager to have his son come back.. he has no reason to lie.

Only stirring mate.......we've discussed but before i agree community footy has some issues when it comes to player payments and structures causing a massively toxic culture.

Grown bored of the Brahma bashing - not as much fun when no one from their club is on here to reply anyway.

They're not the only club in that division throwing the bucks around, have heard of some silly offers to 17/18/19 year old kids.

$150 - $200 a game easy

What message does that send the kids? At such a young age.. that they can run around the next 10-12 years with zero loyalty demanding top dollar as an average footballer?

Honestly, I always thought playing for big bucks was something you did after you won a few flags, played several seasons at your local club and were looking for a easy gig in your late 20's. Not fresh out of junior grades...

Someone once told me that if you move to a club from under 18's (Club X 2023) to your 1st season of senior footy (Club Y 2024) then you are a zero pointer, I have no idea if its true however some country clubs have used this to attract talent at zero points and throw in a bit of cash.

Can anyone confirm, could that be what is going on here?

Yep if you haven't played any A grade or SANFL-system footy then you'd be a 0.
