Not sure Inglis is the answer either but at least at 26 he has time on his side. Inglis should have caught his chance imo but it's funny when Carey was dropping even easier chances people gave him the benefit of the doubt, Inglis drops one and people are putting him in the can on one performance.

Couldn't agree more.

Obviously, none of us know the true answer but from perspective it appears that whilst Langer had flaws he also was very well prepared, had the team play with an edge and had extremely high standards.

Some of that seems to have been lost in recent times. As you said they seem to lack intent, they don't seem to have great plans and it comes across as if they are being coached by a mate who has somewhat let the standards slip.

Na, it’s your hatred towards him from the moment he debuted is what I’ve never understood.

It has been like you’ve wanted him to fail, when we have so few South Aussies play at international level I like to throw all my hope and support behind them.

Totally agree.
When a whole group of talented players ALL continually fail to play to their ability, then the coaching staff are at fault.
Have lost 7 of the past 8 ODI games, and none of them have even been close.
As bad a patch as I can recall.
Our best performing bat ATM is a guy who was only selected after Heads injury, our #1 spinner is being upstaged by a part timer back from a major injury, the world's #1 ODI bowler is bowling half trackers and we can't get any runs from anyone batting 5 thru 8.
And to top it off, we haven't even got any young guns who would be at least benefiting from the exposure.
Unmitigated disaster.

Andy Jeaks, President of the WA PAFC Supporters group. Ripping bloke who does a massive amount of work in WA. Been over twice to Optus and both times he's got me out on the banner, once with @valleys07 and once with my brother. Awesome experience with a good mate and my brother. Organizes all the pre and post match functions. Great bloke, over there with his son who made a name for himself on the test tour of India early this year.

Nah never wanted him to fail, but from what i had seen of him watching plenty of shields streams i always thought his keeping was highly overrated and many SA people had a significantly over inflated opinion of that.

I dont 'hate' anyone just didnt rate him like others did. Many posters on here were no different to me with their views to Wade especially at the end of his time in the side.

The batting will improve especially if the decks are flatter

Australia has been off the boil since the WTC Final, we were brilliant in that match and been average (and somewhat lucky in the Ashes) since yet Australia's ODI form isn't a surprise to me, we're just not good enough as a collective at the moment compared to India, England, South Africa and New Zealand (potentially Pakistan too, I'm very interested to see how we go against them).

If we play Sri Lanka on a dry, dusty, spinning pitch against Theekshana, Dhananjaya and Wellalage I won't be surprised if we lose. Like Mal said above too many players are out of form at the same time and they will continue to get found out against spin.

That doesn't make him wrong on current form.

As long as we have Bailey, Di Venuto, and McDonald, we are cooked. Sending over the same mob that couldn't get the job done four years ago, while pulling the same selection blunders we did in the test series has given us this disaster. Di Venuto in particular needs a rocket. More batting collapses than we had in the eighties even though we have Smith, Warner, Khawa, Head, and Marnus who all have decent average. In the mid eighties we had AB and that was it. We sack a winning coach yet Di Venuto apparently has a job for life.
