Surprised it took this long. Yes.

Arguably along with Kerley the first superstar of the SANFL as in the post WW2 media boom (what’s this new fangled talking box in the corner of the front room) the game boomed in our conscience.

My Mum would’ve… (her side of the family had extremely poor taste in footy clubs)

Absolute legend of our game
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Brokered the Kernahan, Bradley and Motley deals to Carlton and paved the way for South Australians to really make the most the the money when the VFL clubs had it. Managed some of the games stars including Warren Tredrea through his career.

A gentleman, a giant on the field, a premiership coach and mentor to many. A true legend of South Australian football in every possible sense.

PORT Adelaide veteran Travis Boak is closing in on a new deal to play on for 2024.

Boak, who has played 349 games, has been deciding whether to go on next season but is set for another one-year deal, which will be his 18th season.

Going on his finals game he's easily in your best 22.
Unless a kid is killing it in the sanfl he's not holding anybody out of a spot.

I'm not a Port fan but I've always admired Boak. Could easily have gone back to Victoria at any stage but stuck with Port.

The 2006 draft is a bit of a sliding doors moment...Port take Boak, a Geelong lad, at 5. Geelong take Selwood at 7.

Not sure either club lose sleep over that one. Both incredible footballers, Selwood a tad ahead but if Boak had played in that Geelong playing group im sure he would have attained similar accolades to Selwood.

Can't have that. Selwood literally willed the Cats over the line repeatedly. Boak a fine player but not a clutch player like our Joel. He's one of a kind. Name another crash and bash player who has racked up as many games as him. Reckon both clubs would be happy though.

I remember his "thank you Port Adelaide thread" in the first week of October 2007 for drafting Boak ahead of Selwood, so yeah this was like death, taxes and fuel prices jumping the week before a long weekend...

I've seen lots of things in my life but Rik giving a Port Adelaide player, or anyone not in a Geelong guernsey a pat on the back? Not yet witnessed that.

Come on mate I'm not bad. :D

Look, I'll prove it.

Boak has been a great player for Port, one of the best in their history
JHF has been much better than I thought he was going to be this season, and I can see comparisons with Patrick Dangerfield in his play
Rozee and Butters, along with JHF is one of the emerging midfields in the AFL
Scott Hodges is one of the best SANFL players I have seen, and one of the nineties team that would stack up in the stronger 70s and 80s era
Brian Cunningham is one of the best rovers I have seen
Russell Ebert, enough said.

Now expecting anything sensible after waiting over 40 years for a premiership is not exactly being sensible is it now @am Bays. Fancy a Glenelg fan not catching on with that one :D
