Surely if over rates are a concern and you want to save your new ball until the next day, you just press on with the old one for 7-10 overs?

80 overs and you can take it anytime after 80 overs

Having a few overs late in the day with it and early the next day giving you two chances with the new ball is the theory.

Take that every day.

450 please.
That would he nice, but I doubt it.

TBH if we’re critical of the POMS for their BazBall attitude we shoujd really have got 460-500. Head, Green Starc and Lyons are wasted wickets.

Why was Heads wicket wasted ??????? 77 of 73 balls
If the top 6 all do that = 6/462 off 438 balls
STARc and Lyon batted the way they usually do
Only wasted wicket was Green, for a correct batsman that was a poor shot
Head was a poor shot, but thats the way he bats

Cummins giving Brook a good working over, hopefully can dismiss him soon enough.

Starc gets him instead, can't see the Aussies bowling too many in Brooks half of the pitch for the rest of the series now, he genuinely struggled with Cummins short stuff.

This has been quite a confronting spell of pace bowling this morning from Starc and Cunmins.

Interesting tactics to co.bar Bazzball, a little bit of fire and brimstone to start with.

Yeah I think he would be wise enough to know what to expect now for the rest of the series.
