Yes poor Anthony May, couldn't of happened to a better bloke.

To be fair, probably the worst ground I've ever played on. Houghton had less grass last year but it was consistent. There's patches on Flinders unis oval that you literally cannot run or even jog in, you sink in well past your ankle.

Not that I'm bitter, but more scoring shots and healthy leads given up in both games - they sting a bit.

Not to mention some highly questionable goal umpiring late in the second game from a dude who was openly barracking all game. Something to keep an eye on for other teams and OSB in my opinion.

Thats a bit rich mate. Your Goal Umpire has a habit of some very dubious decisions nearly every game we play you. He called a clear goal a point and lucky it was overruled by the field umpire. Must have been on the Jacks cans again.

Also you got a goal when the field umpire ran into our player who had the ball about to put it to the top of the goalsqaure but called a free for umpire contact. Straight down the other end for a goal. I could go on.

How bad was the ground - Dead set cow paddock! Some of the decks in the South Eastern part of Adelaide are horrendous with rain because of the higher clay content in the soil. Flinders Uni, Mitcham, Unley, Plympton, Glenunga, Scotch ect all are a shocker with some rain around. Luckily it’s somewhat drying out this week compared to the previous 2 weeks. Probably going to have our highest monthly rainfall in years this month…

Holds up the best of all of them considering the high traffic on it... And all the other grounds run the wrong way ;)

That's weird we've never had complaints.

There was an OSB goal in the first quarter where it was in our opinion pretty clearly touched off the boot - where the OSB ruckman Tom Hawkinsed our guy and quickly snapped it through. We protested quite vociferously that it was touched but the MP goal umpire called it a goal, and quickly checked with the field umpire, which went against us.

There will always be decisions where it was just this side or just that side of the goal post or umpiring decisions that could be interpreted differently.

Little bit different to a goal umpire quite literally commentating on field umpire decisions, rebuking them openly and stating opinions on field play...and then quite blatantly either not understanding the rules or ...worse. It wasn't a close call that went your way. It was a fundamental misunderstanding of the rules and/or understanding of the mechanics of the game.

For those in the cheap seats, ball gets kicked towards goal, clearly between the big sticks, contest in the goal square right on the line, ball lands back in the square, soccered through for a goal. Decision was... touched.

Was either a goal in the air or if it was touched before going through, a goal off the ground. The goal umpires decision was physically impossible.
