A tad pessimistic there Spelly. All sorts can happen in 100 overs of cricket.

To me, it reeks of this match (coincedentally a win over VIC was required to get there):

Lehmann's captaincy was impressive against the Vics in the one-dayer. Could've easily put the field out and contained them to 200ish, but kept a couple of slips in and rotated his strike bowlers well. I know there is a lot of frustration with Lehmann, but he has scored 8 first class centuries. Maybe he rises with the responsibility? Should he be captain next season when Travis Head is not around, or made full time captain, because Head is likely not top be around much? His father had one of the highest cricket IQ's going around. Is Jake in a similar mould?

Wow - Liam Scott gets yet another opportunity. Interesting that Thomas Kelly who was 12th last game, and played the game before against WA and didn't do too bad is now dropped altogether - even after making what looked like a very good ton on the weekend. Again - local SA player overlooked for interstate players. Wouldn't be surprised if he ups and leaves to play elsewhere

Unsure - I suppose we'll know if he plays for his club on the weekend.
Update - Carder out already. Hey Tim etc., don't you think it's about time you realised he can't play?? A failure in WA and a failure here. Time for someone else to have a shot. Bring back Kelvin Smith or someone else that can open!!!

Surely the last we have seen of Carder. One more game this year, just give Kelvin a go and see if he deserves a contract next year.

Kelly not injured, played last week and made century for Sturt against Conway and co.

Heard Tasmania keen on getting Corey Kelly next season, the twins are pretty close so maybe Thomas follow him there. Both are not fans of Tim Neilson and the way they treated Corey last year, more will come out if Thomas leaves too!

Can someone enlighten me as to what happened with Corey last season?
He seems to have huge upside as a 22 year old, same as his brother - and like you mentioned, is a local lad.

what happened to Corey for him not to have a contract this year?

I don't know what happened to him but he decided to step away from cricket so wasn't offered a contract.

Stepped away due to Mental health issues. Still keen to play at the next level, just not with SA. As mentioned above, more will come out about how he was treated by Neilson, was disgusting.

I can see Conway leaving as well, comes over to play more State cricket and has hardly played. we have gone from no bowling options to now having a few.

Yep - I reckon he's a fair way down the pecking order now.
