how we seeing the year pan out in the grades?

few clubs look to be in a rebuild of some kind/ loss of players so will be tight come the end of the year.

A1 - Ingle farm still the team to beat. /
A2- Scotch as long as they have the same /similar side.
A3- Golden Grove cant lose.

Has there been any talk on ATCA pushing the start of the season back a week?

Next week is gonna suck weather wise.
Difficult getting grass to grow when its so cold and wet.
Might be a good thing to can the one dayer and start with the 2 dayer the following week.

How's everyone's blocks looking a week out?

Hearing plenty of clubs struggling to get a pitch in preparation for Rd1, Oct 8.

Have also heard that some anticipate not being able to get a pitch up until late Oct/early Nov. Going to be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks and see what the league will do.

With the way the seasons seem to be changing you could almost get to the point where it becomes more rational to play cricket November to April and footy May to October.

Glenunga's main oval is a mud bath as footy use it. But, the other one (Margaret Bond) isn't too bad as it's used for soccer and the two soccer pitches run either side of the centre wicket, so it only gets a bit of foot traffic during winter.

Has to be at least a week delay- even outfields at a few grounds are not ready let alone pitches.

Any news on if ATCA will delay round 1?

Weather for the week isn't looking good.

Won't happen.
Clubs that share ovals between the 2-day comp and the 1-day comp means the fixture doesn't line up to push the 2-day rd 1 fixture into the 1-day r-1 fixture. Will be several clashes.

Washouts are part of cricket and the fact that it happens to be round 1 doesn't mean it deserves special treatment.

Grade cricket has done that (where fixtures line up and opponents are the same through the grades, etc).
I haven't heard of it happening in ATCA yet, and I'm fairly sure it wont (refer above).

Doesn’t look like we’ve got the rain they were expecting today.. might be a few grounds around Adelaide which are fine for the weekend. Going off past history unless there’s a storm or rain on Thursday/Friday ATCA is reluctant to call cricket off.
Yes some grounds will be under done, but blokes pay their fees for a reason so if grounds are ready then why not let them play.

The problem is that there is still plenty of rain to come. Good luck to those clubs who can get a pitch prepared for Saturday. It's a big advantage to play because even if you lose you'll pick up close to 5 bonus points, which is what clubs get for not playing. A win will give you a 10 point head start on the pack.

Senor, surely Ingle Farms ground won’t come up for Saturday - looked a sad state last week.

Looked just as sad when I took a look at 4.30pm this afternoon. No chance I would suggest.
