At present I would say we only have 2 recruits in the current side that fit that category.....Fort and McCormack. The rest of the recruits are 'serviceable' at best at may not develop past that. Buechner the most promising of the rest but still has a long way to go imo.

Grant has shown signs at times and Neagle is basically the same 'okish' Neagle we recruited the first time.

Meggsy might not be the answer but the positive is the issue has finally been identified. Our recruiting/retention has held the club back for the last 7-8 seasons. An issue we have appeared to put our heads in the sand about up until now.
The strategies implemented may not work immediately but it’s a step in the right direction.

Both Premiership winning Menzel’s are still at the Eagles and were at training last night.
One is currently out injured but was running OK.
Sour grapes ?

In fairness recent reports even by some Eagles fans were that Troy had done his ACL.Eagles Nest wrote:Totally inaccurate.gazzamagoo wrote:Only 1 Menzel left.Dogs64 wrote:Losing the Menzel's is the biggest loss. If he's running at training then he musn't have done it which is awesome news.

Not sour grapes at all! Good luck to them.

There were some initial fears that Troy had ruptured the lars ligament that he had done when he started his SANFL career at the Dogs.gazzamagoo wrote:Not sour grapes at all! Good luck to them.

Commentating with Dan Menzel a couple of weeks ago, who of course is an expert when it comes to knee injuries, was saying the lars surgery generally has a life span of about 10 years.
The plan for Troy was to give it a rest for 5-6 weeks and assess how it is coming along in the back half of the year and make a decision to either play out the season or pull up stumps and have surgery.

Because as per the quoted statement, someone was asking about the knee injury and I was answering the question.southernbulldog wrote:Why is this relevant to CDFC 2022.They play for the Eagles not us.

Re: CDFC 2022
Been meaning to mention for a while.. when I bought my new centrals polo a few weeks ago I noticed the tag had the AFL Logo on it and the guff about all team logos, emblems and name are all trademarks of and used under licence from the owner, the AFL… Did I miss the AFL SA memo?
Any other clubs merch the same? It’s the first time I’ve ever seen it.
