Your south aren’t ya?
I took mine to Bob Burns Blind at St Mary’s there and they replaced mine for $200
Obviously I had to take it there and back but I saved $250 doing so as it was going to be $450 originally

Is it just normal fly screen or are you getting crimsafe installed?

If it's just normal flimsy flyscreen that that's ridiculous

Yeah I think they have quoted top end stuff, we have crim safe on there at the moment, we need to replace it as the neighbours cat kept pissing on it and it has disintegrated!

Don't tell the crims, they'll all start carrying cats around. Hmm, maybe that's how the term cat burgler started?

Yeah - the chick doing the quote said we could take it off and take it to them to save some $$$'s, might check out BBB's thanks for the tip.

We actually don't need crim safe on the front as it has the decorative bars across it, but when we built it matched what we had on sliding doors out the back so was just easier to match it all up.

Crim safe, but not fking cat safe

My front screen door is the same, it’s older but sturdy with the decorative bars across it.
That’s why I had the mesh wire replaced.

BBB do their own crimesafe( probably not as good but like you I didn’t need it)

Depends on the circumstances on why you left.
And have those circumstances changed enough?

I've certainly got some thinking to do, what I was sold in my interview for my new role isn't what I've ended up with.

Previously my manager was poor at people management and was moody at times to the point of dragging me down.

In my new role ( 6 months in ) my manager is poor at people management is moody and can drag you down with his style, he's a smart arse who has no idea how to manage people.

Both of them have an incredible level of technical acumen.

Previously I had great flexibility with my hours, my holidays, my autonomy in my role, holidays at Xmas, no out of hours work.

In my new role I'm micro managed to excess, I'm blocked out of taking leave from Nov-March and work every 6th Saturday as well as being on call that week 24/7. The extra money isn't going to change my life.

I needed to get away from my previous manager, 14 years in the same room and we needed a break. I've lost the work / life balance that I was once afforded and, to be blunt, prefer.

Absolutely pending the circumstances.

Sometimes a change is as good a holiday but if that didn't work out I would have no problem going back to an employer provided I was treated with respect and at the same level as previously.

Hopefully you learnt one or two positive skills, insights at your new employer that you might be able to take back to the old employer so you feel like your contributing immediately and making a difference.

Have you remained in contact with your previous manager and did you leave on amicable terms?

We've had quite a few return to us over the years bud (and others that have wanted to). It's never been a problem for us, but that's obviously the reverse situation of what you're looking at.

Knowing you a bit and reading between the lines, whilst neither is ideal, sounds like you're leaning toward the previous employer option? Racing and Footy aside ( ;) ), you make good decisions mate, trust your instinct.

Invite him to SAfooty. Sounds like he'd fit right in.

My mob is still hiring, though I'm not sure what management type roles are up at the moment.

Previous manager was super intense and it was just the two of us in an office for 14 years, I've been away for 6 months and what I was sold about this position hasn't eventuated, in fact the culture here is quite poor at the moment because of the manager, there's now a third member in the old office and my previous role has yet to be filled. I'm in a strong negotiating position.

Can you get your own office space at the old joint??

Definitely worth having a discussion with over a beer.
