Well much better. Hit 35 points to get done on a countback in our comp. I implemented a throwaway tip from Sergio that I watched on Saturday in my game and it fricken worked. Next stop Lake Albert Ambrose in 2 weeks. Much more confident in the ball striking.

Pennants at Regency Park didn’t go well at all, yet funnily enough played a great round of golf (well the 13 holes I played) #-o

I played number one in division 1 and learnt the hard way the difference between playing off 4 up against a guy off +3 the difference is the length of south road! The kid out drove me every single hole, on the long par 5 he out drove me by 86 meters and I flushed my driver straight down the middle his second shot was an 8 iron on to the green! If he wasn’t kicking my ass it would’ve been great to watch.

On the turn I was 2 over the card 37 yet 4 down, parred 10 for a half, had the honours on 11 (par 3 up hill) pin back left in to a wind, I’ve played a ripping 8 iron 6ft from the pin my team mate loves it, gives me a high 5 and says ‘great shot’ the kid pulls out a gap wedge and almost Michael Jordan dunked it for an ace, he ends up 2 inches away from the hole, looks at my team mate and smirks. I couldn’t believe it A F**king gap wedge! He then birdied 12 and we halved 13 to smack me 6 and 5.

In summary I was 3 over after 13 holes and lost 6 and 5. Tough day at the office.

Oh well it is what it is. This week we play North Adelaide at Playford Lakes. Haven’t played Playford lakes for years it was bloody dry last time I was there, hopefully it’s improved.

86metres... that's a fair head start he has!
Guys off scratch and better just play a different game.
It's a bit rough to get smashed when you are just playing to your handicap as well.

Yep playing in the public pennant comp as warm up for the Simpson Cup is hardly fair on the genuine players and members of the public courses. Kinda defeats the purpose of public courses playing pennants golf if blokes off +3 are playing.

I’ve literally never seen a bloke with club head speed like he had and ultimately the length was unreal.

He does, as do a few other players ‘Apparently’ they use it for match play warm ups. It is what it is I guess.

Alright you lot. This has been discussed on and off for years but it's about time we actually committed to a SA Footy golf day.

I'm happy to arrange tee times etc, especially at West Lakes, but happy for anywhere really.

I was thinking a Sunday arvo while the weather is still half decent and before footy etc starts up.

Thoughts.....

Mate I couldn’t putt to save myself today. 3 putted 3 times including the 18th

Front 9 was good tee to green, putting let me down, story of the day. 16 points, then had 12 points with 3 scrubs coming in for 28 #-o
I think it was the 13th played a cracking drive up the left, wedge in put it in the right bunker absolutely fried egg right below the top lip! 2 to get out scrub. Par 5 had a birdie putt walked off with bogey.

I reckon I must’ve had 35+ putts, you simply can’t have that many putts. Anywhere ever…..

As silly as it sounds, I actually played a lot better than the 28 points suggests. Oh well that’s golf!

Weather was great and course as good as I've seen it.

Gross winners hit 15 under including 11 birdies in a row....glad we didnt waste our time playing good golf.

Was more hungover than usual, but none of us could hit a green or hole a putt.

Hit a nett 76 (Stroke round) at the Pat last Sunday to back that up, including a blow out 8 on the 17th (tee shot in water). Nowhere near our winners on 65 though.

Just need to play more, threatening to have a good round.

Hi all,

I mentioned on here last year about the Corporate Cup Golf Day at Berri Golf Club and there were a few people who were interested in attending this year. It's on a again on Friday 29 April. $400.00 per team of 4 which includes 18 holes of Ambrose golf, all your grog out on the course followed by a 3 course lunch including all drinks. The day starts at 8am and finishes at 4.30pm. You also have an opportunity to win a Mazda BT-50 for a hole in one. We had a fantastic day last year and will definitely be playing again. Very good value for money and a really good day. Click on the link for more details but just thought I'd get it out there in case a few of you are interested as it would pay to book accommodation at Golf Course sooner rather than later. They are capping it at 25 teams so first in best dressed.

Cheers
So you've seen everything have you?
