And this will end up at port for ladhams.
Something for the media to salivate on all year
So probably is like pick 16 - 18. Unless Melbourne make a mess of next season somehow, which I doubt.

Really for Sydney it's Dawson for Ladhams. Whilst Ladhams is a good player, and I guess fills a need l, still reckon Dawson adds more.

They have lost big time Sydney if that is their end result. They'd be hoping something else comes back from Port for pick 16-18 for Ladhams. I understand Port will pay a heap of his salary which might be the sweetner.

Anyone else think the Dawson trade was done a while ago but not processed by the AFL to create trade week drama?

They didn't do a very good job if that's what they tried to do.

One of the most uneventful trade periods in a long time, wonder why so little movement?

You can't tell me there's 18 clubs happy with their list exactly as it is.

Combination of things IMO.
Many don’t think this draft bats too deeply and clubs not really keen to get amongst the draft. Also not a real lot of quality FA’s and the players under contract will cost far too much

The draft might be a ripper, but we don't know because Vic kids have played around 8 games in 2 years.

"Salary cap squeeze"

There will be more deals done today than the last 2 weeks

But this has kept AFL in the news for another 2 weeks
Dave Warner will be missed!

Yeah that's sort of what I'm getting at but if Sydney can maybe on pay a 2nd rounder for Ladhams then that might bring it back to there favour a bit.

They have 31 don't they the swans? Might be the only pick that could work esp if Syd pay his full salary

For me 30-40

Doesn’t take contested marks which is a must for a ruckman

I reckon they'll give us the Dawson / Melbourne pick and we'll pay some of his salary and a future 4th rounder.

Ladhams is still very young for a ruckman at 23 so big upside if they can get him right, could be their lead ruck for the next decade, be interesting to see how he fits in at Sydney

Yep, 16 to 12 for Port is a little win, Ladhams for 31 is a little win for Sydney and the circuit breaker is Ladhams doesn't take is $400k from his last year to make it all happen.

I reckon it's about right.

At the moment Port Adelaide have 16, 63, 73, 74, 92, so making that 12,31,63,73,74,92 looks better.
