R19 Sturt v North Sat 2.35

Postby DOC » Tue Aug 31, 2021 6:16 pm

Both sides coming off loses.

North still a chance for a double and Sturt still a chance for finals.

Toss of the coin here. Sturt playing great footy. North had a road bump.

Roosters by a point.

North to get over the line in a tight one and secure third spot.

STURT

Sturt will need to tinker with its forward structure before it’s must-win game against North at Unley Oval.

High-flying forward Jordan Houlahan has injured his hamstring, forcing at least one change to be made.

Potential AAMI Rookie, James Richards from Uraidla, Joel Parker-Boers, Mani Liddy and Riley Grundy have all been added to the seven-man extended interchange bench.

NORTH

North Adelaide coach Jacob Surjan has some selection headaches ahead of his team’s last minor round game against Sturt at Unley Oval.

Hard-running Billy Hartung, tall utility Dyson Hilder and small forward Robbie Young have all been added to the six-man extended interchange bench.

Surjan will be tempted to include all three but must weigh up the balance of his side after its loss to Norwood last round.

Former captain Mitch Clisby will play his 150th League game after being recruited from Broken Hill.

I see the Double Blues have named Burrows in the forward pocket. I am guessing he's an in & under type player...

Penfold on the other flank gets better with age.

Sure, but without Danger Mouse to provide support his only asset will be collecting the crumbs.

I’m surprised with Illman’s selection has he been isolating for 14 days?

Definitely a question worth asking, especially if he's been training with the reserves near Spain and Holland.

Finlay, Jarman, and Mercovich have lined up in the reserves for North, meaning Hartung, Hilder, and Robbie Young come into the side.

Good to see Hilder back in, hope Young can regain some zip and form, and can Hartung survive the match without injury?

Double Blues all over it, used the strong breeze well. North insipid.

Looks like North v South Elim.
Unless Sturt keep going like this and win by 300 and knock us out completely!

All over now it would seem. Sturt seem to have the Midas touch, and North can get anything right.

North playing like someone mistakenly told them they had the double chance already sewn up.
