Boak averaged 28 touches and 5 tackles per game, despite Wines' obvious stellar season I still think Boak is our barometer along with Lycett, we are a completely different side without them in it.

Our pitiful performance against Brisbane highlighted Boak's importance to the side.

But still, it matters not as he wouldn't have made the final 22.

Great to see Sean Darcy in there, I wonder if he gets to sit on the pine instead of Nic Nat?

It's a bit of a process of elimination for the remainder of the positions, I'd like to see Touk Miller rewarded, Aliir's late in the season form might get him over the line as he's fresh in everyone's head.

Touk Miller absolutely has to be in there. I watch most games every year and the leap he has made has been amazing. When the rest of the kids are just jogging he just keeps plowing in. When his ruckman went down he just keeps plowing in. When his main support Greenwood went down he just keeps plowing in. If could snaffle one bloke for the Cats it would be Miller.

I agree reckon Touk goes ok, happy if the Hawks picked him up.

So hard for the Suns, perpetually struggle and when their emerging stars do develop other clubs swoop - the lure of either $$ or potential finals/premiership hopes too great.

What chance have the Suns got?

Looks like the clubs will vote on Tassie getting the 19th licence in March 2022. They need 12 clubs to vote in the affirmative. Joint venture option is doomed. AFL will seek expressions of interest from clubs on relocation, but that will go nowhere. Tassie will get there team in about 2028.

It's the 'joint venture' option that I don't really understand.

How would it be any different to the current situation where North/Hawthorn play a few games there every season?

Surely the club would have to have a training base in Melbourne or Tassie - and presumably the existing team agreeing to the partnership wouldn't want to move?

A true JV idea that was floated was that players would live and train in Melbourne.
They would play 9 home games in Tasmania and 2 home games in Melbourne. They would then get 7-8 away games in Melbourne all against Melbourne opposition and have 3-4 interstate away games

So WA have put in a request for the Prelims and GF but the kicker is they want a bye week before the Prelims so that clubs can quarantine.
Not sure it’s fair for the ones who go straight through to the Prelims to miss 2 weeks of footy

Totally unfair. Bye has to be after Prelim or not at all, just play GF on Sep 18 and get season over with!

The question begs if both/either side loses and wins the semi would the AFL make them travel from Perth to Brisbane/Adelaide only to have to come back to Perth for the GF if they won the Prelim or would all finals from the semis onwards be in Perth?
Logistically the AFL would be hoping Geelong and Melbourne win this week.

Both Prelims and GF will be in Perth.
The AFL did say that all flights can be cancelled and plans changed depending on who wins/loses this week

You mean like having to endure the same as the other 3 sides in the same boat if they win week 1?

And Brisbane in 2004 which gifted Port their flag....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
