Can’t see the Tasmanian government wanting anything other than its own side so hopefully they pull their funding and kick the two clubs out

It was reported yesterday that the report would recommend a 19th team be established in Tassie and the only real decision the AFL needs to make is when. Will be interesting to see what transpires.
From radio moments ago, Gil says 19th team is the third best option behind 1) relocation, 2) joint venture.

....so, it probably won't happen then

The worst possible scenario is the JV proposal IMO so that’s what the AFL will probably go with. That would be doomed to failure IMO

AFL would be a lot more excited by a 20th team as that would mean more $ from broadcasters, 19th does nothing for them

No club can be forced to relocate so all this talk of North moving is nonsense.
The only thing the AFL can do is stop all equalisation payments, debt guarantees etc and see which clubs can sink or swim and perhaps a club would go broke?
There would definitely be a few clubs that would struggle to keep the doors open without AFL intervention and 2 of those are their bastard children.
I do hope Tasmania pull all funding and sponsorship from the two clubs and tell the AFL to get nicked though

I thought the Tassie Premier has told the AFL to piss off for next year.

AFL said the Bye could even be before the Prelims, but that would be huge disadvantage to the two teams who win week 1 and go straight thru to prelim, would have two weeks off. has to be before the Grand Final if they want to have one.

Sad, what a legend. I don't know anyone that has ever said a bad word about him.
I used to see him quite a bit when I worked at Titanium Stadium as him and his kids loved the 36ers, awesome bloke.

I enjoyed watching him play for Carlton more than when he played for Adelaide against Port.

He and a few other crow players went to Salisbury North oval for a training clinic with the kids a few years back.

Eddie was flocked all afternoon by kids wearing all sorts of guernseys, it just spoke volumes of the man and what he has brought to the game.

I remember the discussions surrounding that he may be coming to Adelaide when he was allegedly checking out houses in Henley etc. while still being on Carlton's books. TBH, I thought the game had passed him by then, how wrong was I?

I love it when blokes find a new home club and resurrect their impression on the game, Eddie has done that as good as anyone in.

Thank you for the music Eddie, seeing those eyes light up with a beaming smile after you've just kicked a goal using a reverse torpedo with your wrong foot while under pressure from a dead pocket is what makes todays game what it it is.

My wife memory recalls you saying you didn't like him before he came to Adelaide & then liked him even less when he was here.
