Not the first time England have said no room for pope.
Haha!
I actually forgot that I heard yesterday that Pope had a Quad tear injury and that's why he isn't playing.

Must be a real seamers wicket or are the Poms hoping Root is going to run through the Indians.
I'm interested to see the reasoning behind Ashwin not being selected and India going with Jadeja instead. Jadeja is a gun and should be in the team as an allrounder but geez dropping Ashwin is just crazy to me.

This is one of the worst batting line ups england has ever produced. Be a miracle if we beat India and if stokes ain't back for the ashes it's going to be 5 zip again.

And Ashwin's bowling average in England isn't bad - 28.11.

Strange decision.

England all out for 180
Root 64
Curran 27*
Bumrah 4/46 (His delivery to dismiss Broad LBW was a ripper, as was his yorker to Anderson. Brilliant skills)
Shami 3/28

India 0/21 at stumps

I'm listening to the match on BBC radio while at work and the press release one of the commentators read out said he is not playing in the Ashes?

India 1/97 at lunch.

That's right TDK

Jofra Archer has been ruled out for the rest of the year after a scan revealed that he has suffered a recurrence of a stress fracture of his right elbow; the fast bowler will miss the rest of the English summer as well as the T20 World Cup and the Ashes in Australia

Have to continually admire Jimmy Anderson he just keeps on hitting the line and length and getting wickets, this bloke will still be playing when he is 50

Anderson's wicket of Kohli was his 619th test match wicket, drawing level with Anil Kumble and now in equal third spot on the most test wickets list.

India currently 4/125 with bad light stopping play.

I hate how every time Kohli gets out he stands there staring at the pitch like somehow he's been tricked.

Because he wants to make it all about him as he knows all eyes are on him at that point in time.
Similar are the DRS calls one day one where he loves waiting until the last couple of seconds to give the umpire the signal to review a decision knowing all eyes are on him as he hadn't been in the game much while England were batting.

It was an incredible moment, the Kohli v Anderson build up has been huge and the roar of the crowd when Butler caught it was magnificent.
