Mc Farlane also goal of the week contender. Valuable addition to the side. 20 goal turn around from the first game.
Lonergan under-rated, he does a lot of clever clearance work and body positioning. Hayes back to his best. Thompson faultless display.
Tsitas must be in the running for the MM. Always under the eyes of the umps.

I thought that the purpose of AFL reserve side in SANFL was to train/nurture young players on the way to AFL glory. So they are they playing/played old 30+ players with no AFL future? Yesterday there were 3 in that category, which could have allowed 3 much younger community top up players to get SANFL experience. Oh yes, I forgot. They want some silverware for the cabinet. Its been a long, long time since the dusty cups had some companions.

I was sitting in the cricket club and the Zane Williams goal would have made Eddie Betts proud. Stengel's goal at the same end wasn't bad either .

I dont like Port at all, but the theory that they are recruiting older blokes to win the SANFL flag is fanciful, they actually don't care about the Magpies and the SANFL, other than development needs.

Well, yeah. In terms of return for investment or outlay, it's hard to see how any club wouldn't use recruiting options with the ultimate aim of maximising the positive impact of that investment or spending where it matters most to them. Like any other sensible business decision.

Sam Hayes would be one of the best ruckmen in the game at any level atm

It's very, very thin in the bottom 7 or 8, talent.

In good nick and ready to step in when he's called up

I'm surprised that Williams was able to play after that terrible jaw injury from the previous week .
He was listed in the Eagles injury list with a jaw injury from the Hoskin incident.
