To a point yes but I think that's dictated a lot by the Indian bowlers and their quality. This is the best bowling attack in the world other than ourselves.

In recent series against NZ, Pak & SL we batted with lots of flair and attacking prowess.
Given the quality of the Indian attack, grinding them is exactly what we need!

Spewing!

Bumrah is good.

If any of our batsmen have a license to go the slap it has to be Starc. A quick 50 would go great.

Doesn't mean going more aggressive will work, infact it could get even worse.

You bring Warner back into the side and an inform Smith and we will be scoring at a much greater rate.

Considering they only made 36 in their 2nd innings last Test, maybe we should declare and have a crack before Lunch

One all heading into the third test.

I think the future of this series is easy to analysis. Both bowling line ups are world class and break even on one another. The only real question is can Australia find the combinations to score 300 runs and give their bowlers a chance.

Warner will come back in ASAP and this will be huge. If he can find form not only is he a potential hundred hitter he scores runs at a quick enough rate that it will take pressure of the rest of the line up. He is the key to the rest of the series.

What does Australia do with the rest of the line up.

Whether Warner is fit or not Burns is gone. He couldn’t get runs after a free curry night in downtown Delhi. Wade battles hard and is providing a consistent building block but is clearly a make shift opener. We could potentially bring Harris into the side but let’s not forget Harris has been and failed against this bowling line up, his no guarantee.

To me Smith looks mentally burnt after an exhausting 2 year period. Listening to his interview on the ABC today and he spoke deeply about missing his family not having seen them in 5 months. I’m not sure his in the right mental space to take on arguably the biggest challenge in world cricket at the moment. Its reflecting in his batting which is looking really flat.

More than anyone I would love to see Head succeed. I used to look after him as a primary school kid and my partner still calls him a close friend from their time at Trinity College. How do you succeed on a regular basis at test level when your susceptible to any ball outside off stump no matter how ‘in’ your are? Even if we replace Head as others have mentioned there are no proven replacements. Against this Indian attack 2018/19 and present he has hit one score over 40 in 7 innings.

Green should great defensive technique and a high level of concentration. I was very impressed with his second innings given the circumstances. His is ready to dominate the best bowling attack he will face in world cricket…………….not this year.

What can the selectors do…..with the BBL taking over there is no shield form guide to select from. Even if there was there is no ‘go to’ players the selectors can count on like the old days of having Stuart Law, Lehmann, Dave Hussey playing shield.

For mine its Warner or bust. Warner comes in and scores big we could possibly win.

If we'd held our catches, this would've been a close match.

Absolutely have to catch better in the next test.

Batsmen letting us down big time. Did last Test too.

Warner in for Burns
Head will be lucky to keep his spot

Have not scored over 200 runs in either Test, not going to win too many matches with that effort!!

Missed his family my ass, he chose to go and play in the IPL for big money instead of coming home and spending time with his family, he hardly scored a run in that comp either, bowlers have worked him out pretty well, IMO i think we have seen the best of S. Smith

Agree!

No one is forcing them to play IPL

Fact is smith chose money over seeing his family and it’s now his excuse
