Round 12 Eagles v Glenelg Saturday 1334 (not a typo)

Postby DOC » Mon Sep 07, 2020 1:05 pm

Do they just roll the wheel at the SANFL for game times?

Both sides coming of wins and an Eagles victory would I think ensure the minor premiership. Glenelg wins and a double chance is more than possible.

Can't see Glenelg winning after their club was fined for players not sitting down whilst having a beer. They will be playing musical chairs after training tonight to ensure they are ready.

Eagles at home.

Will be an interesting test of the Eagles' fitness coming off a 6 day break and a tough, physical game against North in warm conditions. Wouldn't surprise if Glenelg got up here but I hope not. Win for Eags should secure top 2 position. Given our finals record, we need every advantage we can get!

We seem to get to the GF reasonably well. We just can never seem to win the one that counts!

I had to doublecheck then, to see if you were an Eagle or a Tiger ...

A WWT vs Glenelg Grand Final would be interesting. They couldn't both lose it.

Incidentally the SANFL website has this match starting at 13:45, not 1334.

Although I tipped the Eagles (mainly out of hope that it'll keep North in second spot), I reckon this one could go either way. The result will provide a true indication of who the form side of the comp is. Could be a real slog and tussle affair if the wet weather forecast comes to pass, and I'm not sure who it would advantage.

The Bays have an extra incentive to keep the Eagles to a very low score, apart from improving their percentage - the less goals scored, the less they'll hear the ground announcer over the PA blurting out stuff like "Jake 'The Snake' Von Bertouch!" in his quasi-'Wrestlemania' tone.
