If Healey took a catch at 1st slip - would it be out?
Interesting one. Under the laws i believe the only thing they state in relation to the keepers position is that he must remain behind the stumps until such time as the batsman has hit the ball, been struck by the ball, or the ball has passed the stumps.
There is also reference to the keeper forfeiting his rights to use his equipment if the umpire believes based on his positioning, he can not execute his role as a wicket keeper. (IE: he can't stand at fine leg with the gloves on).
At first slip, it would be close. I'd say no, he can't execute his role as a wicket keeper there, but then again, Harmison bowled one directly to second slip before, so standing at first slip isn't miles off! haha
They Aussies may have argued that Healy was still keeping, and warne was a leg slip, and that they had their angles slightly wrong.
For mine, not out, but would be an interesting debate which all comes down to the umpires interpretation!
