Different areas and stereotypes perhaps, my kids were in their school uniform and my daughter told them that I would meet them at the station and quickly jump on the train to recharge the card, still no good.

Well thats ordinary, or could it be different bus companies? I know they are supposed to be all the same but different companies run different areas dont they these days?

It's been a few years but isn't there an auto recharge function so a metro card always has $$$ on it?
Apologies if this has changed since I last caught a bus/team many moons ago. (No I'm not a snob, it's just been quicker and cheaper to use Uber or my moped since moving into the inner suburbs)

Before my son got his license I ensured I had my uber account set up so he could use it so he'd never be stranded anywhere too.

You just get your good and your bad in every field, it could be a northern area thing where they may get more fare evaders, surely they can distinguish what is legit or not, my kids are always well presented, well mannered and respect their elders, I know they wouldn't have been smartarse's on any occasion, they've rang me every time in distress.

Correct. I have an auto setup for my kids, automatically puts in specified amount once the balance goes below $3

Do you trust your kids enough to give them an emergency $10 note stuck in the back of their wallet?

I played my 1st game of the year on Sat, got run out taking a single from a shot that went to the mid wicket boundary, my knees are telling me its retirement time...

Have been asked to play for the Hills over 50's on an under age permit

Boon - it was a short boundary plus a 16yo with a rocket arm + me thinking I could just jog the single

I got this to look forward to in the next few weeks, my lad isn't playing juniors this year as he wants to concentrate on footy so we made a deal to go play somewhere together, the feet are itching and I'm getting messages each Thursday night from a few different clubs.

Grassroots cricket is really struggling everywhere, not sure what the answer is.

On the surface, it seems really strong here in Melbourne, however I am sure there are clubs about who once had 8 senior teams, and they now have 5 or 6.... Not sure about juniors. Vets is really big over here. 4 divs in the over 50's. Over 60's have 3 divs, including a mid week comp. If you draw the right teams, we get to play on some bloody good grounds.

I can't believe how poop it gets South bound at that time, and it's all because of one lane closed for about 200 metres near Bolivar Road......................and it doesn't really need to be.

Yeah, lets just pile a bit more shit on top of what already seems a mountain of it.

I left for work at 6:15am yesterday and finally made it through the door at 7:10pm only to have to cook for 6 and have it ready by around 8ish, then I got quizzed on why I hadn't put my washing away like I said I would (it was in a basket on my bed and I do my own washing).

At 2:50pm I thought I'd be heading straight home around 3:30pm with nothing much to do, the kids made sure that changed.
