I think it's more to do with men starting to appreciate that we should hold our peers to higher standards. I know my son and his mates set the bar higher than I ever did at that age towards women and it makes me immensely proud that he and his mates do.

To have the temerity to call out your peers takes character, right or, less likely, wrong.

DVD's weren't around in my day.

I may have had a VHS tape snap inside the player as I pressed stop when mum and dad pulled up the driveway, it just kept whooshing around and around, I had to unplug it and try to attack it while they were busy, it was a very nervous evening hoping that they didn't want to watch a movie.
