No listed as forfeit but HV got the bigger win. Looking at Heccies B’s they had enough players listed. They have heaps of no shows or something? Or is that last weeks team auto populated?

Our B grade played our C grade in a scratchy before the A grade to try and entertain our past players

I struggle to understand how they couldn’t get 14 - 16 players to put a B grade side on the park. Hope the fine they get is big

How big is the Lockleys v Pultney match next week!

Some very interesting fixtures coming up in the next few weeks. Woody South really coming good too makes things very interesting.

Hey mate, what was your take on the umpiring yesterday? A mate that’s usually pretty quiet was saying Smithfield copped the raw end of the stick in an big way.

Can’t say I agree with that mate, some people I know would have their jaws on the ground with that call. Was a pretty emotional game at times and very physical all day. There were occasions I feel it would have been very difficult to umpire. Smithfield obviously had some decent inclusions and the match had a bit of finals scrap about it. We weren’t at our best but that’s because Smithfield were at us. Some absolute magic from a couple Kenilworth blokes got us over the line. We kicked 10 goals in time on with the breeze in the first and third quarter. That was the difference ultimately.

That’s the first ever time our A’s and B’s have won at Smithfield.

Personally I would've called the umpiring "very local".

Regardless of how people saw it, it was awful. But it has been for large parts of the year. Sadly I feel the umps are having as many issues with numbers as some clubs. Sad, as without them we don't have a game.

Thanks mate, generally supporters only see the howlers that don't go their teams way and pay no notice to the ones the other way.

D5 Ladder after Rd 14
26 - CBC Old Collegians
22 - Lockleys
20 - Kenilworth
18 - Pulteney
18 - Blackfriars OS
---------------------------------
16 - Woodville South
08 - Smithfield
07 - Hope Valley
03 - Hectorville
02 - Ingle Farm

CBCOC - BOS (H), HV (A), HEC (H), IF (A)
Lockleys - PUL (H), SMI (H), WS (A), KEN (H)
Kenilworth - HEC (H), WS (A), IF (H), LOC (A)
Pulteney - LOC (H), BOS (A), HV (H), HEC (A)
Blackfriars - CBC (A), PUL (H), SMI (A), WS (H)
Woody South - SMI (A), KEN (H), LOC (H), BOS (A)
Smithfield - WS (H), LOC (A), BOS (H), HV (A)
Hope Valley - IF (A), CBC (H), PUL (A), SMI (H)
Hectorville - KEN (A), IF (H), CBC (A), PUL (H)
Ingle Farm - HV (H), HEC (A), KEN (A), CBC (H)

CBC Old Collegians don't look like they'll be moved from top spot, with the next month very much in their favour.

Lockleys have been dealt a percentage blow, and with a tough month, could win as little as one game, as many as 4 - they're a genuine chance to drop to an elimination final.

Kenilworth have a mix draw, with two certain wins and two tough asks. To make matters worse, the two challenging games are away.

Pulteney should finish the season with 3/4 wins, i'd back them to finish off with 3 in a run. 12 wins will cement a finals spot, but unlikely to pinch double chance.

Blackfriars are dangerous and positioned well, but depth doesn't run deep and they'd need their best on the paddock every week to challenge. Round 18 vs Woodvillle South will be a very interesting clash, and could be the battle for 5th.

Woodville South - Should win the next two comfortably, keep their healthy percentage, and then have a real crack Rd 18 at holding that finals spot. Should edge past BOS for the 5th spot.

D5R Ladder after Rd 14

16 - Pulteney

Hope Valley - IF (A), CBC (H), PUL (A), SMI (H)
Hectorville - KEN (A), IF (H), CBC (A), PUL (H)
Ingle Farm - HV (H), HEC (A), KEN (A), CBC (H)

Interesting finish to the season, Lockleys wont (shouldn't) drop top spot, from there until 6th it's really wide open. Smart money would lock CBC for 4/4 to close out the year and likely 2nd spot, as Woody South will have their work cut out for them against Lockleys Rd 17.

Hope Valley travelling to Smithfield in the last game could be a tough ask depending on who the Panther have available.

Get around Ingle Farm.. last month has been a vast improvement, reversed results against Smithfield & Blackfriars while also had a 10 goal improvement over Woody South & Lockleys... competitive in patches.. Just wish could get a consistent side every week, but still we hope to have an impact over the last month still.

Woody South still the real dark horse for the flag IMO - Casazza & Green up forward is potent, Cavallaro, Coppola on the inside with O'Regan x2 on the outside, and Ridgeway in the ruck - it's a well balanced and complimentary group.

It probably affected your A's too, I remember rocking up to a match only to get to the ground to discover the opposing B Grade forfeited, it was a weird feeling running out there with no match beforehand.
