A couple of records broken so far in the Grade 1 PDCA Comp. Virginia CC 226 opening partnership between Shaun Lay and Ashley Nicholas. Craigmore CC also broke a record a few weeks back for the 5th wicket partnership of 208 between the Parker brothers.

By all reports Shaun Lay hit some pretty big balls on Saturday and brought up his 50 in the 6th over.

The Bedge or Lightning McQueen might know some pre MyCricket records that could overshadow these partnerships in Grade 1

Not off the top of my head.. did see via FB Sunday though that ATCO 'B' hit a club record 432 in Grade 4 over the weekend.

Previous grade 1 record opening stand was 223 by Callaghan and Dawe from Salisbury North vs Para Teachers back in 1999/2000. Fifth wicket record for grade 1 is 229 (Para Teachers Tomkins and Bell) vs Smithfield back in 88/89.

To be honest with you, I don't think that would be an all time record, Adrian Grigoul put together an almanac a few years together with all the history, I'm pretty sure all clubs brought one and many went to the general public, I've lost mine after lending it out to f*** knows who, I want it back though as they put my daughter on the cover.

At a guess, this season is going to be a fizzer in the top 3 grades.

The top 3 is already set in Grade 1, Virginia will do their usual trick and get progressively better once they reaIise their season has begun and they aren't just catching up Saturday afternoons to drink their small glasses of scotch, they probably could've done with outright points against the Goats though.

Dublin have started off in a blaze of glory, they will need to keep the little buffer they have over Virginia though.

Riverside's win over the Gardens will go a long way in their hope of staying in Grade 1, it's between them and the Gardens who can pick up the sly win here and there to stay up.

Eastern Park and the Units will be streets ahead of the rest in Grade 2, the Warriors and NEK to push them at times, ATCO will be competitive, the rest will struggle.

Royals will lose a silly game somewhere but take out the GF against Westies B Grade.

Don't be so certain. Enfield started slow, missing players and form but slowly on the improve.. since Round 1 when Salis West were 4/195 our A grade have taken:

6/13 (close out innings) & 10/82 (nearly got the reverse outright)
10/189 & 3/56 (vs Eyre Royals who are streets ahead)
10/71 & 10/85 (vs Central United)

Arguably the best bowler in the club, Todd Rackebrandt, is expected to return in the next couple weeks (been working).. no side will have a bowling line-up as deep as Enfield's once full strength.

OK, swap them and you guys.

That batting in the Westies B Grade is a pretty impressive list.

It took an exceptional Captains knock from Milo Picton to get the Units over the line against ATCO.
90* batting at 8.

Yeah, fair effort that, makes it hard for team balance having Woody and Dave in the team as top order batsmen and frontline bowlers, Miles is a very capable batsman.

Yeah Woody has had a massive workload. Already bowled 75 overs and picked up 24 wickets! Dave Ritz has also bowled 50+ overs, a lot for this time of year.

Had heard people bag the Adelaide Warriors over the years and it painted a bad picture in my head already, I had a game on the weekend against to which my team mates said they were one of the better teams to play against as far as sportsmanship etc.

I must say, they are very tactical, very enthusiastic and speak in their own lingo but overall they were a pleasure to play against.
