So did Dixon. So did Polec when we got him.

Footballers have surgery, its par for the course. As someone else mentioned, hes played at least 16 games a year since his debut.

Met him after the pre season game and seemed a decent bloke so I personally hope he goes well, he spent a fair time talking to my son about footy. Was really generous with his time

Please don't challenge me with facts and proof, no I didn't watch a lot of Brisbane, I like his worth ethic and his tackle count.

I'll see myself out.

Reminds me when I used to work as a factory hand in a smallish company, everyone was more interested in what everyone was getting paid and guessing what they were on, and they'd get wild about it haha!

No he isn't otherwise they will match it. He will be getting very close to $800k at Port but worth it.

So again, how does he fit in their cap? They are full to the brim now and only lose Trengove who would have been on $450k.

It is a concern for mine. He'll play most of the year unless he does something bad but he just isn't damaging with his disposals. yeah he wins a lot of clearances but he never actually does a lot with them.

I am hoping that he is just going to be an extractor, in the Matt Crouch type role, to allow Gray, Wingard, Motlop and Polec more time on the outside.

Looking at Rockliff in isolation and its a sketchy call. Look at how he would fit in into the team and what it means for others (Motlop too), and it does kind of make a bit more sense.

I think most guesses are pretty accurate withing $50-$100k, not hard when you know the average and the cap.

Trengove on much more than $450k, was one of our highest paid.

Monfries, White, Neade, Young, Ah Chee all would have been mid 300's.

No, its not. When you factor in where the loading is, performance bonuses, triggers, out of market deals etc

These are multi million dollar multi year contracts a lot of the time which would be incredibly complicated, not a 12 month deal to do some admin with Maxima.

Young, Monfries, Impey and probably others leaving. Just 4 or 5 of those type going will save $1m plus

Not necessarily the full amount if a deal can be brokered between the parties

Out goes : *estimated* ( average AFL wage is $302k this year )

White ( 300k )
Krakouer ( 300k )
Monfries ( 300k )
Young ( 300k )
Ah Chee ( 300k )
Trengove ( 500k )

$2m +/-

In comes :

Motlop ( 600k )
Watts ( 600k )
Rockliff ( 650k )

$1.85m +/-

6 out, 3 in and no real $$ better off unless current top enders are going into the back end of front loaded deals....

We'll show you, North Melbourne. :D

@Dutchy

Minus Watts out of the discussion, easy.

Pretty generous with those figures I reckon, plus you are 3 players short, are they getting paid nothing? Are Wines, Wingard not getting increases in 2018 and beyond?

He's 27, 5 years ahead of him.

5.8 tackles per game has him 27th with Gibbs, Menegola and Dangerfield on average tackles per game.
