Serious golf course one of the best I've played. Review to follow, best place to find a beer on a dry Buddhist long weekend!

Banyan - Hua Hin.

Played as a members guest in the comp. The Banyan clubhouse is the biggest fanciest I've ever seen. I will stand corrected here but I think it's the number 1 course in Asia. Was put in a group with 3 Indian guys, one was the GM of the Radisson here, the other a local businessman, the other on holiday from Mumbai. Needless to say there was some cricket chat. Played from the members tees, it's a stern test of golf. One that I failed! Basically if you miss the fairway, it's jungle, you won't find your ball. Bunkers and water everywhere huge greens.... the whole shabang. With some national pride at stake I managed a few pars but it was mainly double bogies and worse. 24 pts on a tough course in the heat and humidity that had my golf shirt wringing wet by the 3rd hole. Enjoyed a few beers at the bar afterwards. The field made up of Yanks, Germans, Dutch, Thais, Irishand Indian players. This Aussie was well out of the prizes. Banyan sits in the best 5 courses I've played comfortably.

Bloody Par today, I hate Par...

Was an average round today, every time I got a + it was very quickly followed by a -. Played some good golf in the closing stages...

Was 2 down after 9, 4 down after 14 and then got 3 back in the last 4 to finish 1 down...

Won $5 in the comp (I was the last person to get a prize thanks to count back) and won a birdie ball on the Par 3 8th.

Was happy today, could have been better but will take the result...

I still hate Par...

IMO those that hate par rounds have the wrong mindset......its just match play against yourself ;)

So im now into 17.1

Today was strange. Tough conditions with the breeze and a few spots of rain.
A couple of times it killed distance and was gusty during back swing.
Had a few poor shots....but overall it was quite good.
Putting is what kills me.
Had the pleasure of playing with a member of the pennant side playing off 3.
His front 9 was poor...by his own admission. His back 9 he started playing really nice golf and some outrageous shots from awkward spots.
Think the next couple of months will be a tour to use up club advantage card.
Client at work wants me to play out at TTG with himself and Mrs. He plays off 5ish....
So 17.1 is a new low.

I looked at a round at Bali International Golf Course, but at $160 for 18 + $60 for clubs I couldn't justify over $200 to spend a day on my own.

Your coin includes a cart and caddy, just couldn't justify it when it would have nudged over $250 with some drinks and lunch. Too much.

Played Flaggy

92 off the stick
35pts
1 wipe which just clipped a branch and didnt see where it ended up. Wasnt a bad shot by any means which makes it frustrating.
Slow 5 1/4hr round.
We were last comp group that started 5 mins behind our time.

Into 16.5
