Got the keys to my new house this afternoon.

Took my dog over there so he could have a look around tonight and being House Rules experts my mum and sister had fun critiquing everything about it, they do make a few good points lol.

Very happy with my new home. Now the buying furniture and household items and moving process starts, I'll be satisfied when everything is all set up and I'm all moved in.

Huzzah! Nows a great time to get some furniture bargains too, with sales on and all.

Get to Ikea for household items like plates, cups, glasses, cooking utensils etc - cheap but decent quality, unlike Kmart which is cheap and nasty. they have really good doormats too that are cheap too

Yeah good timing with all the end of year sales, I intend to make the most of them.

And an Ikea visit will come down the track.

Yeah I'm not to keen on Ikea items such as it's furniture but still worth a look there for other items I reckon.

I wouldn't buy a dining table or a couch or something but for study desks, bookcases, chest of drawers etc it's great

Agree with this, definitely not buying a couch or dining table from there. My girlfriend and I actually ended up going to Ikea yesterday arvo for a browse and bought some kitchenware. We found a tv cabinet and matching coffee table we liked and seeing that I got given a voucher for Ikea I'm going to buy them.
