Whilst I'm here, do any Haven folk want to give us first thoughts on Morphies and how you think they'll go....

Is that space cadet still lurking around? LOL.. Speaking of space cadets.. What ever happened to the new GX prodigal son Gino?

Gino wasn't there on saturday (or i just dodnt see him)
Salisbury looked ordinary and Gepps cross were harder but game was very scrappy. Salisbury had no bench in the second half with there 3 best players off (including both players who tied for B&F last season) and ran out of legs as it was only a point difference at 3/4 time

Its tough to review from 1 game and I am sure if they go on and win the premiership this post will be held against me but I will give it a crack.

Their B Grade were pretty average, whilst our B's have improved on last year we were second from bottom and won by 20 goals on Saturday, I can't imagine them making the finals.

I watched the A's and they had some very good players as all teams do and were quite even outside of those top few. To me they seemed very similar to Edwardstown last season and I would expect them to be around the mark but definitely not world beaters.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

Smithfield and Eastern Park will be a cracker match-up this season. When was the last time these two clubs played each other?

He's not very good at updating his bloody FB - the last I saw was a pic of him on the lounge with a massive bandage type cast on his leg but can't find where he's provided the actual outcome yet.

I don't think they crossed paths back in the day, I think EP went up when Smithfield went down one year, 98 IIRC

The last thing Pag needs is extended time off his feet. The old #14 gurnseys looked like it had to be altered so it would still fit after a big off season

Either way, it's a long bloody time ago (particularly when they're local rivals).

Be a while since Smithfield and Salisbury played each other as well. Would you have to go as far back as NMFL days for that?

I remember playing at smithfield about 2002, probably Div 5 i'd say when Salisbury went from div 6-5-4-3 in consecutive years.

After round 1:

Was the EP vs Kilburn result an upset? With EP playing at Thebby for their home games and not 'at home' where they rarely lose put them behind the pack early? Also when does their jet Woodward return from suspension?

With the players that Smithfield lost over the summer, did Edwardstown do enough or too early to tell?

The 1 point game must have been pretty exciting for everyone involved.

What about Morphetville Park. Early talk was that they would be a juggenaught. Perhaps not?

Without taking anything away from kilburn and the way they played in the first half on Saturday, we definitely did not come ready to play.. They ran all over us and we had no reply, I think it was 14 goals - 2 goals at half time! It took us a long time to switch on but after half time it was like 2 completely different teams, I think we ended up kicking 13 goals - kilburns 4 or 5 goals after the main break.. In saying that, I think kilburn will be a very good outfit all year and play finals, but I don't think the result on the weekend is anything to go by.. I think we will definitely bounce back this week and will be primed for the big grounds within the next week or 2!
