Agreed! Given the season is all setup to entice results and aggressive cricket, there really is no need for a final is there? Best side finishes top, wins.

Surely bat again.....go the slog, heck reverse the order to snuff SA right out of it!

Think you're right, probably bat again and look to bat out the remainder of the match.

All out for 287. Vic lead by 200. They'll now bat for as long as they possibly can. It's a slow death, there can only be one result, Vics win the Shield, but there's two days to drag it out. Death by 1000 cuts

We are going to knock them over for 200 and chase down 400 and be crowned Shield Champions.

Redbacks....I believe 8)

Or

They set us 600 and bowl us out for 90

The flame no make that barely illuminate ember will be snuffed out by lunch if we don't completely own this first session but bushfires can be started by a cigarette and stranger things have happened.

400 in 4 sessions is far from impossible and that's what we have to be aiming at. What do we need for this to happen...
- 1 bowler to bowl a ripper of spell and claim 3 or 4 (Chad seems the most likely)
- Support from the rest of the attack
- The Vics to just get ye ole sphincter tightening

- A big opening partnership (we are surely due)
- An opener to go on and get a big hungy
- A middle order or Captains ton to support
- To get to 300 no more than 4 down

SA cricket fans surely have earned that one epic defining performance that undoes all the heartache and pain. 8)

Todays the day, todays the day. Its not the day the Teddy bears have their picnic, its the day we find out if we do support a sh*t cricket team.

4/117 approaching lunch. Zampa with the wicket.

Dalton bowling handy little meds as well, looks like he has Finch very wary.

Couple close LBW's, and a missed C&B aren't helping.. this pitch doesn't look like it's gonna be easy to bat on day 5 though, Holland will rip them square.

Very good to bat on early in the match, and we didn't hold chances.
