Making a real mark on those 7 million people.

Not a traditional football state boon. Still a fair effort.

Swans wouldnt ever need to, they know they'll always be propped up by the AFL with COLA, Academy picks etc etc, regardless of how bad things ever got.

Don't need tarps when you have the AFL finals pass.

You get that from winning games! Gee we even got banned from trading for doing nothing wrong and earned a pass...

Never been propped up recruiting-wise by anyone...so my point was that the Swans would never have to consider something like tarps to boost their finances, because AFL assistance would soon see them being able to recruit some quality players, thereby bringing optimism to a fickle supporter group.

The northern clubs are an AFL "play thing" - they'll prop you up with advantages to generate success & interest, but if it goes too over the top, the AFL will then wind things back down again, through other means.

Have a look at Brisbane since they lost they lost their allowance! We've lost cola now and been penalised for nothing and we are still doing well.. Our off field is probably one of the best in the league. Our recruiting has been exceptional over the past 10-15 years, mostly players from clubs who struggled to get games... Not going to deny that having an academy doesn't help, but that academy wasn't an issue for a number of years until Heeney came along! Hundreds for kids have been through that and we have got I think four decent players out of it, them being , Brandon Jack, Heeney, mills and Alir.

Lets not forget cola was the AFL's idea which we didn't ask for...

Interesting that Rhys Palmer couldn't fit into Carltons 22, or Sam Kerridge for that matter.

This probably means they have a stronger side than last year. Kerridge is poo.

Palmer was handy when I seen him last year in a team who could sit out there best 8 players and still beat Carlton I'd imagine.
