I see South and Central were the two unsuccessful "bids"...

Ha. Were any "official" reasons given to accompany the blindingly obvious one?

I think a SANFL official was quoted as saying "There, NOW we can be friends again."

Can't believe the SANFL are going ahead with this. When most of there clubs are going broke and struggling to find volunteers already. The current women's league may have a few issues but all in all the Comp is a good one and has fed its fair share of players into the AFL's first year. The local women's football clubs have battled along for years and I can't see why the AFL wouldn't just support them more rather than give money to the SANFL to create a Mickey Mouse comp with limited clubs and games. How much priority do you think they will get from those clubs. Try putting it in a list, Men's seniors, Senior colts, Reserves, junior colts, then maybe Womens? We have a dedicated women's league already. Don't you think the money would be better spent there. If the SANFL clubs (like Westies) want to be a part of it then jump on board.

SANFL has unveiled its 2017 Statewide Super Women’s League fixture with a blockbuster Friday night season opener at Coopers Stadium on 17th February.

The season will consist of six minor round matches, with all games to be played as double-headers at either Coopers Stadium or City Mazda Stadium.

A highlight will be the round four double-header to be held at The Parade as a curtain-raiser to Adelaide’s AFL Women’s clash with Brisbane.

SANFL CEO Jake Parkinson said it was a great opportunity for the inaugural players and clubs to make their mark on the competition.

The season will culminate in a twilight grand final on Saturday 1st April at Peter Motley Oval, between the top two teams on the ladder.

SANFL is proud to partner with Statewide Super for the inaugural Women’s League.

Statewide Super CEO Richard Nunn said Statewide Super was excited to be the major sponsor of the SANFL Women’s League.

“As South Australia’s local industry fund we’re proud to support local initiatives, and we’re particularly proud of a partnership that supports women playing their chosen sport at a professional level,” Mr Nunn said.

Entry to all Women’s League matches will be free, with plenty of family friendly activities.

Is it just me or does the term "blockbuster" get grossly overused nowadays? Come to think of it... what exactly is a blockbuster?

Seems very difficult to achieve, at least from what I've seen on the internet.

A pretty average song by The Sweet.[/quote]

Better than average was on their Greatest Hits Album.

Pay Homage to the Glam Kings of 70's Rock & Roll.

1973 hit song and their only No1# in the British Charts stayed there for 5 weeks.
It knocked Jimmy Osmond's "Long Haired Lover from Liverpool" until it was replaced by Slade's "Cum Feel the Noise" late February / Early March 1973

Sadly Vocalist Brian Connolly & Drummer Mick Tucker are no longer with us.

Ahh Ahhh, Ahh Ahhh
You better beware, you better take care
You better watch out if you've got long black hair
He'll come from behind, you'll go out of your mind
You better not go, you never know what you'll find
Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahhh

Don't look into his eyes, you'll be surprised
If don't know what going on behind his disguse
Nobody knows where Buster goes
He'll steal your woman out from under your nose

Does anyone know the way, did we hear someone say
(We just haven't got a clue what to do)
Does anyone know the way, there's got to be a way
To Blockbuster

The cops are out, they're running about
Don't know if they'll ever be able to blockbuster out
He's gotta be caught, he's gotta be taught
'Cause he is more evil then anyone here ever thought

Does anybody know the way, did we hear someone say
(We just haven't got a aho)
Does anybody know the way, there's got to be a way
To Blockbuster

Does anybody know the way, did we hear someone say
(We just haven't got a clue what to do)
Does anybody know the way, there's got to be a way
To Blockbuster

Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh
Ahh Ahh, Ahh Ahh

Buster buster blockbuster
Buster buster blockbuster
Buster buster blockbuster
Buster buster blockbuster
