Bombay Bicycle Club

Went for lunch on the last day of work because its close and I basically just wanted to get home and start my holidays

Factory operator had curry trio, ate the butter chicken and left the other 2, they looked terrible and apparently tasted worse. Apparently had to stop at Maccas on the way home to use the facilities cos he didnt think he would make it.

Secretary had salt n pepper squid, looked like it had been frozen and coating was a stodgy mess.

I had the churrasco duck, not great but better than the other 2

3/10

Probably on the banned list now

Tried out Burger Republic on King William Road on the weekend.
They don't do kids meals/ burgers except for a cheeseburger which was overpriced crap.
I had a chicken burger with fancy cheese and fancy lettuce which was pretty good but it was small compared to the price.
Missus had a beef burger with all the trimmings which was quite good as well.
Kids shared a beef burger like the missus.
Both kids had an Oreo milkshake whilst I tried their Henry Ale's x 3.

Total was about $110 less the 25% which made it about $82.
Not cheap but will go again.

7.5/10

Nothing like a grey pube salad on a warm day washed down with a nice cold beer

So assuming the 2 shakes and the three beers were 25% percent of the bill, then it cost around $82 for three hamburgers. Yowzers.

I kind of don't get the fancy burger thing. Now don't get me wrong, I like a good hamburger, and I'm all for tricking up the standard issue burger with some fancy ingredients. But at the end of the day it's a just bun stuffed with greasy meat, salad, other bits and bobs, and some cheese. Given a choice of driving across town to one of the hipster burger joints and paying twice for what I can get at the local take-away, I'll take the latter every time.

Whilst the new-school burgers can taste amazing, the bog-standard burger is still reliable and tasty and IMHO not worth the upgrade as a general rule.

Bonus points for using "bits and bobs" in your post.

Beers were $8 as were the shakes.
So it was $70 for 3 burgers.
I did get some fancy sauce as well. :D

Yeah give me an old school fish shop burger any day.

Lunch in the front bar at the Watermark yesterday - They do all lunch meals for $15 on Friday's, and include a drink pretty much of your choice.

Went the 300g Sirloin with Pepper Sauce. Ordered medium rare this thing was cooked to perfection and seasoned brilliantly. So tasty that I didn't use the sauce much (although that was top notch too). Washed down with a Jamesons and Coke, for $15 total I don't think Ive ever had a better value meal.

The missus went the Cheesburger and pint of Cider, and that was excellent too.

Both meals came with chips and plenty of salad.

In terms of pub meals, I'm giving this the maximum 10/10, seriously recommend it.

Banoffee for dessert to share
Mixture of ice cream, banana, butterscotch etc
Simply superb, not too sickly sweet as some of these types can be!!!
